Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

Couldn't YOU have moved to an open double when she squeezed in?
I was kind of stuck. Seriously. It actually took a fair amount of effort to extricate myself out of the seat when we finally arrived downtown.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #167: Weather

So, my group is doing a "community involvement event" in Indiana (where all but 2 of us in my group are located). The community involvement event is going to a AAA baseball game, and they all get $20 in free beer! I feel left out.

Yeah, but isn't $20 of free beer at a baseball game like 3 Bud Lights or something? Though, the Lansing Lugnuts game I went to last year had Leine's.

mmm....beer. Can't wait until Friday. My brother is taking me to a brewery tour in Houston. Saint Arnold brewery, their beer list looks good. This is one of the 3 presents my brother got me for my birthday, after I asked for no presents, just to make a donation to a charity (he did the donation to the charity, got me a gift card, and is taking me on this tour).

Is the work week over yet?

So next week a few of us are making the trip to scout out the final Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. Very excited about it. But we're taking a puddle jumper flight from Boston. I don't do well on small planes. Though it does lessen the opportunity for a screaming baby. That's a plus.

Here, $20 gets you 3, or almost 3 (I think they're $7 each) Grain Belt Nordeasts. We can also get Summit, and other local brews at MN Twins games. I have no idea what kind of beer you can get at a AAA game in Indiana, but I'd hope it was also cheaper.

Also, I'm going to the New Belgium, and possibly Odells breweries on Friday. :D

No five hour drive (each way) for you? It's actually not THAT bad...

That'd be the Indianapolis Indians, triple-A affiliate of the Pirates. Their field -- Victory Field -- is a pretty nice place to watch a game. They have the usual domestic yellow stuff, Blue Moon on draft, and a "high-end" counter (or maybe it was a cart) with Newcastle, Bells, Fat Tire, etc. So you can do all right.

Edit: Unless they're going south, 'cause Louisville has a team, too. Don't know about them.

Isn't the noise of a baby inversely proportional to the size of the cabin?

The NB tour is a good one. Sometimes they have stuff on the tour that won't even be released to the general public, or if it is, it's usually rare stuff that you only find at a festival or something. Also, when I took the tour, you drank throughout the tour, not just the end. :)
