Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Morning, El Lodge-O.

Based on the books at all? I read every volume as a teenager.

Dunno; it's the Smithsonian Channel, so that might be a clue.

I did the same with the Time/Life WWII series. Read the whole thing, every volume, cover to cover.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

On hold with the Registry of Motor Vehicles 8 minutes and countng. I renewed my car registration online and never got iti n the mail. Mine expired yesterday. Greeaaat.
Only 8 minutes so far? So maybe in an hour you'll get to talk to someone.

I renewed my registration and my license at the same time online. I got my new registration within 3 days, and was driving on an expired license for almost 2 weeks. Finally got it in the mail this week. I was starting to worry that I wouldn't have it in time for my flight next week (in which case I could take/use my passport, but it's easier to use the license for an ID).

I gave up after 22 minutes and called another number, waited another 15 so I'm going to walk over there now.

And take a number to wait an hour for it to be called?

One constant in the different states I've lived - the DMV sucks. Maryland was the worst though.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

If you live in Minnesota, I think you should just start walking around in a T-shirt and shorts and mowing your lawn and stuff just to spite nature.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

I've never had an issue with DMV. Of course, I lived in a rural county at the time...

What slays me about getting my license or tabs renewed in downtown Minneapolis is that they have more than 20 stations available for helping people, but never more than 10 are ever open. Meanwhile, I'm stuck there waiting more than a half-hour each time. Why build the extra stations if they're not going to use them? It's just stupid.

Actually we renew all that stuff on line or by mail now so we don't have those issues. When Jr needed to take his permit test on the other hand....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

It bothers me because I renewed online to avoid this mess and I never received it so I have to come here in person anyway. Their website was no help and could not get to a live person on the phone. I tweeted the MassDOT and they followed me and asked me to DM them with contact info but have not heard back yet. Here at the RMV now, waiting.

I do it all online now, too. I'll gladly pay the extra $1.50 for the convenience. The only problem with that is, like Scarlet, the last time I renewed my tabs the DMV had a malfunction and their system was down for two or three weeks, while my tabs expired and I ran the risk of getting pulled over by a cop. I just kept my online receipt with me in the car in the interim.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

The first vehicle I ever drove was a Dodge Ram. My head is too big for hats (not to mention, why hide the hair). Who is Eric Church?
They make hats in the 10-gallon variety.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

I'd rather have the weather MavHockey14 is describing.
You're nuts. I like the snow and enjoy winter..just not in April and May.
Did one of you dry-hump Mother Nature in the ***? She's ****ED at you guys.

It's supposed to push 80 here two of the next three days.

She can't find her shovel, so apparently she wants to torture us this way...

It's absolutely crazy. We had five straight absolutely gorgeous spring days, with sunshine, a light breeze, and temps in the 70's. Today it's cold, windy, and snowy..This state is absolutely crazy.

Thank you all for the support throughout the last two weeks. Things with the lady are better than they ever have been before. I knew things wouldn't be back to "normal" and that it would either be better or worse. I'm very thankful its been better.

I was unsure if I would be traveling home with her for her sister's confirmation this weekend, and I was indeed asked to. I'm very happy and am feeling much better, but am even more thankful she is happy again.

Civility, please! You might not like reading about DU sports, and that's fine, but Lodgers shouldn't throw insults every time they read a post that bores them. Silence is better in such cases.

(Silence)
Ummmm, I didn't. I said I ignore him, so I don't have to see that crap...not sure what is difficult to understand about that....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Same here. Even after I moved to the cities I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes at the DMV.

My visits usually are about 10-15 minutes, tops, although the DMV by me is a rather popular one.

A dusting of snow, which melted immediately, in my neck of the woods. Stopped raining soon after lunch, and nothing since.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Good evening Lodge.

Sunny and 45 degrees here in 320ville. Not a drop of precipitation today. Not one.
