Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Was a true innocent in HS but college  Met and hung with kids who had been partying for yrs but were excellent students. I learned more than academics in college. We partied very hard a couple of days a week (back when Happy Hours were legal and they had 2 for one specials. 5 bucks could get you toasted!) and then hit the books the rest of the week in the library. When I think back I truly wonder how we ever lived to tell the tales we do.
2 for 1 specials still exist too!

You're welcome. I'm pretty sure you were a part of my string of "spreading" reps today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

We had a senior skip day. I missed it because I was to hung over from the day/night before.

This, sans the hangover (did not drink until the Tech years). I went to Catholic school, where each year the Asst. Principal picked the day, then would tell a select few organizers, "You should not skip school. Period. BUT, if you were to maybe miss X date, I won't punish anyone for it. It's up to you." ;)

Spent the day with a couple friends. My parents never know about SSD, as they wouldn't have approved. :p

I didn't skip senior skip day.

We had Senior skip day. I went to the casino late the morning before, and then slept in, woke up, and went golfing. Since we didn't have a golf meet, I didn't need to attend practice, so we had a practice round at our convenience. Baseball and Softball had to go to school. The teachers knew it was coming, and most of them had no plans.

Our school always had it on te Friday before Memorial Day, to have Friday-Monday off.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

If I remember right, we were all supposed to skip a day, but then it turned into a cluster**** because there was no leadership behind the thing. No one knew what was going on, and about a quarter of the class skipped, because everyone else thought it was the next week.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

We didn't have a Senior Skip Day. They cracked down very hard on it the years prior to us...
Same here. Seniors, however, did not have to take their finals at the end of the year, so we did have a de facto two days of senior skip, but that was more of the school telling us not to show.

Some years the seniors would show up that first day of EOY finals, and taunt the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. My class did not do that, to my knowledge. I sure as hell didn't - there's no way you're getting me out of bed at 6:30 to go sit in a lawn chair at the school.

We started our finals a day before the rest of the school, and then on the last official day of school, had commencement practice so it wasn't a complete cluster**** when it was time to receive our diplomas.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

We didn't have a senior skip day, as my HS buckled down on all of that stuff. However, I took my fair share of "mental health days" through my senior year.

We did have a senior picnic thing where we got to miss 2/3 of the day and go to the beach. Big BBQ, and just general shenanigans of pranking teachers and whatnot.

Good evening Lodge.

Thunder snow. The snow is coming down hard right now. Old man winters last stand. Temps are supposed to hit seventy Sarurday. FWIW we haven't seen fifty yet this spring.

Can't wait until Sarurday. Is that where we drink whiskey and get roaded?
