Good morning Lodge.

If you can't have happy hour, are you allowed any kind of promotions/discounted drinks? For instance, the bar I went to this week has $2 Tuesdays. 14 oz of good beer (they have a great selection, and only the 9% ABV or above are excluded).

As for you wild partiers, I didn't drink until late my freshman year of college, when I was dating a frat boy. I was not aware of anyone in my high school that drank (but I was also sheltered and naive).

Senior skip day? I don't know that we had one. It's tough to organize a class of ~700. Although, my AP lit final project group skipped a half day. We skipped calc and band to go on a road trip (50 miles) to film where the Blair Witch Project was filmed. Yes, that's right, I am the kind of nerd that would skip school to work on a school project.

I think there's an obscure NY law that prohibits alcoholic beverages to be sold at a 50% or greater discount. This is why some places will do 2-for-1 plus 50 cents.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Morning, Lodge-O.

If I remember right, we were all supposed to skip a day, but then it turned into a cluster**** because there was no leadership behind the thing. No one knew what was going on, and about a quarter of the class skipped, because everyone else thought it was the next week.

That's freaking brilliant. If a movie showed that happening, it would immediately shoot to my #1 high school movie of all time.

Yet another way we're similar! Maybe we're separated at birth. Are you adopted? :p

Good morning Lodge, the mrs and I are loving Cabo so far. She was especially excited to see the temp here is double what it is back home. Yesterday we did our one day of fishing. it was amazing but I'm still sore from all the work it took to land a marlin. The pic here in the fishing thread: http://board.uscho.com/showthread.p...nting-Thread&p=5716026&viewfull=1#post5716026

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Man, that Carnival Triumph is seriously cursed. First, generator failure. Next? High winds break lines on her in the shipyard and she floats into the harbor and downriver a bit. Now? A handful of tank barges (at least one of my company's) have exploded while getting gas-freed at a different shipyard about half a mile away from the Triumph. Nobody from my company has been injured from what I'm hearing, however a few have been injured (I would guess shipyard workers.).

Wouldn't be surprised to see it re-christened with a new name whenever they can finally return it to service.

Has anyone noticed that Shirtless Guy is posting in this thread more while on his honeymoon than he has all year? And does that seem odd to anyone else?
Glad to hear you're having fun. And that's an awesome pic with the marlin.

I don't think so, but an odd e-mail from my father last night has me wondering. I think he was tipsy when he wrote it. He repeated himself a lot, and it had a formal tone to it. Here's an excerpt:
I have a request for you to bring us something when you come visit us. I would appreciate if you would go to Meijer and purchase Michigan cherry coffee. This could be a surprise Mother's Day present since your Mother is not aware of my sending you this e-mail. Otherwise, I will reimburse you for the cost of the coffee.

I am going to send you another e-mail recounting Sue and Dan's visit with us this past weekend which I will share with your Mother. However, I am not sharing this particular e-mail with her since I want the coffee beans to be a surprised.

Love, Your Dad.
That he signed it "Your Dad" makes me wonder whose father I should have thought wrote this e-mail.
I find the thing hilarious, but maybe that's just me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

So....I walked across the street from work, to Walgreens, to pick up some energy drink so I don't fall asleep at my desk. I get out the door, and the first thing I hear is Creedence blasting. Start walking over to the Walgreens and see where its coming from. Some old guy, with a molestache, driving an early '90s style Chevy Astro teal panel van was playing CCR with the windows down, reclining in the drivers seat with his shoe and sockless feet hanging out the window. Ah, spring is here.

If he was drinking a High Life, I could have sworn it was Tippsy.

Yes.Maybe all the wedding planning was curtailing the more important things in life.

Weekend is here. Just want time to keep flying by.
Live every day as if it is your last.
