They're not that complicated. And Metro Transit will provide you all the needed information on their website - metrotransit.com.I was just reminded again why I will avoid riding busses at all cost. I had to try to look up directions, and bus stops for my gf, and relay them over the phone. Holy ****, confusing. Apparently there are bus stops, but not all busses stop at all of them, and you have to know which bus stops are which stop. Never will I willingly ride one of those things. I'll drive myself.

Well, I'll never need to use that, for myself. I'll never ride one unless I'm forced to.They're not that complicated. And Metro Transit will provide you all the needed information on their website - metrotransit.com.
First, I tell her that she should drive, instead of riding the bus, but she disagrees.First, some bf you are in letting the gf ride the bus when you should be driving her at her beck and call. Second, why do you hate Earth?![]()
Buses are only nice if you live in a major city (Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth etc)
Touche.By nice you mean tolerable
You can't walk six blocks? That's about the farthest a mass transit user has to walk around here in the big cities' commercial areas. Yes, mass transit requires more planning, but it's not as much of a killer as you make it out to be. I have friends who don't drive, some by choice, others due to things like being prone to seizures. My friends get along just fine. Or, like me, I ride a commuter bus from Apple Valley to Mpls. I read while on the bus. In fact, I do most of my reading while on the bus.Well, I'll never need to use that, for myself. I'll never ride one unless I'm forced to.
I don't see how you can get anything done while riding a bus, you have to go where the bus wants to go. Oh, I want to stop at the liquor store to pick up a 6 pack, nooooo, bus doesn't go there. I need to stop and get a ****en' chalupa? Noooooo, bus doesn't go to the Border. Or get on 2 other busses and a train. Sit next to 8 gang bangers, 2 potheads and a crackwhore, and go wherever the **** the bus decides to go. Luckily, I live in a bus-free zone.
I don't see many, if any good things about living in a city. Way too many people to deal with, too loud, everything is too close together...And one of my biggest pet peeves, the streets are too small. How the hell do they expect it to work when they have a street that is only big enough for 3 cars width-wise, and they allow parking on both sides?!?!? This is terrible in the neighborhood my girlfriend lives in. There is only room for one car to drive down the street, and its a 2-way road. And then some ******* decides to park in the middle of the street and wait for someone, blocking the whole road, and on top of that, half the time they have the audacity to smile and wave instead of getting the **** out of the way. I tend to just lay on the horn until the idiot moves.Buses are only nice if you live in a major city (Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth etc)
Ok, grocery shopping. How do you go grocery shopping if you have to ride a bus? People carry 12 bags of groceries at one time onto and off of the bus and take care of it the whole time? You can't walk six blocks? And the gang bangers don't usually get on mass transit. Those that do, they're not very successful bangers and will leave you alone so long as you're not trying to "front" on them. Except for the exceptionally stupid ones, because the rest know that the buses and trains are all equipped with video and sound recording devices these days.
That is why I live in the suburbs. Problems like that rarely happen.I don't see many, if any good things about living in a city. I usually have to take 4-5 trips from the truck into the house when I get groceries, usually it is a completely full cart. I just don't see how I could get that on the bus, since I don't see them pulling up in front of Cub Foods and letting me walk on and off the bus 5 times to haul all of my stuff on the bus.I don't know how many bags of groceries, but yes, people do bring bags of groceries onto the bus.
Right, but in my opinion, those are things you can do in a city and still not live in the city. It is probably different where you live, than in the Twin Cities though.IMO, I am only in the city because that's where you meet people, friends, and eventually girlfriends... Otherwise I would be more than fine w the burbs.
If I had what you MN board types have going I wouldn't live in the city... But that being said, its nice to be in striking distance
