Quite a few lakes down south are open. Up north not so much.
I can't figure out how that map works. It says to hover over ther marker and the lake name and other information will pop up. I can't even see any markers when I zoom in as far as I can on a lake.

Me too. I thought maybe I was screwing up something.

I thought we had established that your work computer and the internet don't play well together?

Who in the hell would build an open air baseball stadium in south central Canada??

That was the great debate back then. The idea of a retractable roof was floated, but nobody wanted to pay the extra $250 million to put a roof on the place.

Cheapskate Billionaires.
Compared to the BS with the Vikings stadium, the Twins ballpark seems downright peachy.

and for the record, I'm in favor of the open air ballpark in Minneapolis, I love the look of Target Field, I love the feel of it, and I think so much of that is lost if it has a retractable roof. Most years, this is only a problem for the first couple weeks, if that. Or maybe there are 2 games that are affected by winter weather. This year is an anomaly. Its just too bad that such a horse**** team plays at Target Field.

Can you imagine the playoffs outdoors in late October and early November? It was shortsighted foolishness motivated only by miserliness.

In addition, we wouldn't be dealing with the complete stupidity of trying to figure out how to put a non-comical sized baseball field in a football stadium.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Playoffs are a myth. They don't exist in Twins Territory anymore. In fact, that's why the owners keep fielding bad teams. They realized that if the Twins were to go that deep into the playoffs that they'd be a laughing stock. They just seemed to have forgotten that the inverse is also true.

While on a much smaller scale than the events of last week, the news closer to home for me is not good.

Armed robbery with a woman shot in the head at the apartments not far from my house. They think the suspect took the bus to the busstop that's 2 blocks from my house.

Then this afternoon we hear helicopters at work. Go outside to see Survival Flight looking for a place to land. Explosion at the wastewater treatment plant.

I dislike the news.

I hope all is well with everyone. Prayers your way.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

In "not news" it's snowing heavily again here. :(

I forgot to whine about something this weekend. On Saturday night I had another of my headaches at night that woke me up about 3 AM. Sometimes when they are that bad I don't try to get back to sleep but get up and try to get rid of the headache which I did this time. Had success and got back to sleep by 6. About 8 I was woken by the sound of voices. At first thought my wife and son were talking. Finally realized that it was amplified and not close. The park across the pond and highway is often used for runs/walks/rallies, etc. The wind was from that direction and it was pretty loud in my bedroom (I sleep with the window open a little). They went on and on with announcements and music till I finally gave up and got up. Still don't know what race it was, just wish they had the decency to keep it down until about 10 AM on weekends. :(

Some big dam snowflakes here in Capital City, MN. Make sure to wear a helmet if you go outside.

They're joining forces and falling in attack patterns now. It's beyond the point of being an irritant now. Also, I just saw a forecast for this weekend that says 70 & 73 for the two days. What the heck is that?
