Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Good morning lodge, just wanted to say I had an amazing weekend and my lady and I made it official in front of our friends and family on Saturday. I can now say there is a Mrs. Shirtless Guy. We're sitting on a plane waiting to head to Mexico right now. Thanks to everyone here who attended or thought of us from afar!

Morning.

Congrats on getting married! I hope to join that exclusive club sometime in the next year or so. :)

Agreed.

Well.. I PROMISE I'm not trying to whine to all of you, but I'd appreciate a prayer if you so choose. Girlfriend asked for some time and space and we're currently not together. I don't really have another outlet, so I appreciate you respecting me posting this. She is everything to me. I have a very stressful next three weeks, and this timing just sucks.. Appreciate your prayers. Thanks.

No problem... Everybody needs an outlet... Just find some meatspace people to talk to as well... Not the easiest time of year as you head towards finals

Good Morning.

The wedding was good, it was a fun and happy occasion and I think everyone had a good time. Especially Yager.

Stayed of the boards yesterday. Instead gf and I spent the day together watching some movies, napping, making dinner and doing laundry.

Not looking forward to the next wave of snow, 6-10 inches overnight, according to what I heard on the radio this morning.

More snow?!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

More snow?!
This is easily the coldest April that I can remember.

ETA: As I was running to the Home Depot to get some supplies while I fail at fixing a bad drywall taping job the original builders did, I saw the potted plants they're getting into stock while waiting for the busy season. The arborvitaes and a few other evergreens were left outside as they're hardier than their flowering counterparts. Well, the arborvitaes waiting to be planted look to have a lot of winter burn on them this year. It's just too freaking cold.

Yep. I have had snow on the ground in my yard every day since late November. It got close to gone a few weeks ago, before we got another 10 inches. I had about a foot in my yard early yesterday, but overnight rain brought that down to about 4 inches. Also, my yard is very shaded, and snow melts much slower than many other peoples yards. 10-12 inches fell last Thursday as well. I'm almost guaranteed to have snow in my yard into May, if you consider the piles I have accumulated.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Jeebus. Do you just mow around those piles?
Luckily, I'm still a long ways off from having to mow. Right now my entire yard is still covered with snow. :p

It should all be melted before I have to mow, if not I'll just let the grass go longer than normal. I don't think I could bring myself to mow around piles of snow.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

I have a flare out at the end of my driveway that I don't think will ever be rid of snow. Every time it gets close, we get another round to build it back up. The rest of the driveway is perfectly clean, but that one spot has no chance of clearing. Ever. Well, that's not true, it might clear up come October 29, but then on November 2 we're going to get socked with another round of snow that'll stick until June next year. And it'll be clear by then next year only because it'll be an early spring.

Since when did USCHO start including Notifications next to the Settings link? Or am I really just that dim?

It's not like we can use it anyway, since private messages aren't allowed, and we have to settle for rep.

She wouldn't be "Shirtless Girl"? ;) Congrats. :)

I'd say "Mrs. Shirtless", but then that'd get confused with Shirtless Bob.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Howdy Lodge. Greetings from the left coast. Exhausting day yesterday but I did manage to get tickets to the Kings-Stars game. First time at the Staples Center. Pretty cool building. While they could never schedule it there with three pro teams using it, I think it could be a fun Frozen Four destination. That whole LA Live area is very conducive to an event like that.

Heading over to the convention center now. We are having Misty May-Treanor in our booth for a couple of hours. I ordered 20 volleyball s from Spalding and they're not here yet and I'm freaking out a little. Tomorrow we drive to Chula Vista and checkout the Olympic Training Center there.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Thanks every one.

Patience is what it's gonna take to have a chance at this again, and while i think I know it, it's so **** hard.

Did manage to make classes today. Going to lay in bed and relax for awhile now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Good afternoon Lodge.

Best of luck Mav.

Congrats Shirtless.

Here in 320ville we still have a bunch of snow on the ground. In fact, it's snowing right now. Sounds like the end of the week we might see 50 degrees or higher for the first time since last fall.........

Edit. Just went outside. White out. Snowflakes the size of quarters.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

what are the odds the Twins get a double header in tomorrow?
With 6-10 inches falling overnight and tomorrow morning? Yeah, not happening. On KFAN it sounded like they were planning on having to cancel both tonight's and tomorrow night's games.

Also, does anyone know if someone keeps track of the longest the lakes stay iced over? The lakes in the Twin Cities still have ice on them, even though, it is looking pretty thing at this point. Given the differences in temperature and peak ice depth, I would guess it is not at all out of the question that some lakes up north are still covered in ice for the fishing opener.

Not even close to being ice out around here. People are still driving on the lakes. 24 inches of good ice yet. I can't imagine that the lakes up north will be open for the opener.............

Quite a few lakes down south are open. Up north not so much.
