Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

came home and girl told me some cousin of her dad's died. mookie feels bad, but he don't know anyone's name, so if peeps come over this weekend he'll just have to see who he usually sees that isn't there.

anywho....

she informs me that her cousins (two sisters... it's not their parent or anything who passed) will be here and is all excited to tell me!!! the older cousin looks like what julia roberts would look like if she had an asian parent. [this is obviously a quote mookie has used before, girl shared it, and everyone likes it :D]

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

We had dinner the other night at Super Moon Buffet. It's in the burbs not near any concentration of Asian housing but it was 85% Asian customers. So I guess it must be good. Oh yeah, a smattering of Jewish families then the rest WASPS like us (ok, the wife and kid are not Protestant - and none of us are Anglo Saxon). I kept thinking of mookie and how much he would enjoy it for a place in Golden Valley, MN, or St. Louis Park.

In "not news" it's snowing heavily again here. :(

I forgot to whine about something this weekend. On Saturday night I had another of my headaches at night that woke me up about 3 AM. Sometimes when they are that bad I don't try to get back to sleep but get up and try to get rid of the headache which I did this time. Had success and got back to sleep by 6. About 8 I was woken by the sound of voices. At first thought my wife and son were talking. Finally realized that it was amplified and not close. The park across the pond and highway is often used for runs/walks/rallies, etc. The wind was from that direction and it was pretty loud in my bedroom (I sleep with the window open a little). They went on and on with announcements and music till I finally gave up and got up. Still don't know what race it was, just wish they had the decency to keep it down until about 10 AM on weekends. :(

How big is that gated in community?! Sheesh!;)

Half a foot of snow and wind here. It feels like the dead of winter. This has been a crazy spring. My girlfriend or whatever she's called now.. Ex? I don't like that term quite yet, hasn't had one practice outside on their soccer field. Just nuts.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Weird day at work; one co-worker had to take his wife to urgent care (she has the Percy Harvin migraine issues), and the other had the day off, so I was flying solo for half the day, doing EVERYTHING (the latter co-worker does the returns/inbound). But, I did confirm I have the Thu/Fri off before Biddlyn's wedding....I really would like to keep the "standard" Houghton trip traditions alive (Downtowner Wings/LI Thursdays, especially, assuming they still have that special outside of the school year).

You are alive after last weekend?

One tidbit that wasn't mentioned (I don't think):

Almington, MNS, and I met Ryan Thang's wife at TK's on Fri. He did well. Not only in looks, but she was pretty cool, too.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #166; And Now On To....

Morning. Can't wait to turn off the Mississippi and into the Ohio this afternoon. After not having this flooding river last year, I'm remembering why I didn't miss it.

Week and a half until I get to be a lazy bum for 2 weeks.
