I used to travel to Appleton for business. In one of the Fox River Valley towns there was a NASCAR type bar. Bar stool racing. The bar stools were actually motorized. Briggs and Stratton. No my type of bar but I have to admit is was pretty good entertainment.

I'm at a UP themed bar. 4 KBC's on tap, 2 more in can. Tech jerseys and signed sticks on the wall. Only hockey on the TV's. Church, Luke and Aldean on jukebox. It's pretty amazing.

Except for the UP, Tech jerseys, Church, Luke and Aldean it sounds like an ok place. ;)

Remember Antonio Banderas' friends in Desperado? It's like that except with booze and debauchery.

Don't do it. WHen they come crying to you tell them they are the grown ups and they need to leave you out of it. They have no business getting you in the middle. Use emotional blackmail as needed. (Why would you try to get me involved in this? You guys are messed up, I don't want to be messed upt too) If you get in it then it perpetuates things. If you go you will end up feeling like one side is right and in the end it takes 2 to tango. Usually you have the 'Joan of Arc' who should be standing up for themself and the 'Perpetrator' who should know better but JoA lets them do stuff, whines but doesn't make it have a consequence. Lock yourself in your bedroom.

Ya, I agree with Les. I have been (mostly) left out of my parent's mess from 2 years ago, but my Mom still occasionally feels the need to tell me about the latest nasty thing she said to him  Almost every time I call her, I get to hear the latest thing. She wonders why I don't call much while at work. It definitely sucks, hang in there best you can.

Speaking of, I get to pick up my Dad and his girl on the side tomorrow from the airport, come back here to show him my place, then drop them off for their cruise. Can't wait for it to be super awkward and everything!

Early afternoon seat at the HHT. Alma Mater has made it to the ACHA D3 National Tournament in Missouri next month I think.
Mostly what I'm thinking here is just sitting in on their next court date that's coming up. Thinking of just sitting in the back there and seeing how they act together when they're suppose to be reasonable adults and all that. Then I can just counter them with whatever BS they did there when they come crying to me about what the other one did and acted in court.
Everyone should check out the UMD Penalty Box site today. It is classic!
HAHAHA!! Man, if I hadn't been kicked off of that website.... Hell, I just might sign up another account there just to taunt them a little about that.

The tUMD site thing happens every year. It's quite the tradition. :D

I know that, but Hello Kitty?? **** shame he thinks he needs to pull the plug on that MB after the season.

It is always over the top. Usually dominated by a pink color for the main theme.

I still say don't do it. You don't need to know their dirty laundry or see them if they aren't on their best behaviour. Even if you confront them later with the facts there will be some reason that doesn't apply. The only confrontation should be that you don't want anything to do with any of it, any time they try to involve you. When you involve yourself, whether you mean to or not, you become a variable that interferes with their dynamic. If you want them accountable then get out of it- no sympathy, no commiseration, no accusations. Just tell them they are grown ups, you know they will work it out some how but kids don't need to know the what or how of it.

Sorry to be so preachy. I got in the middle for yrs. When I finally stopped trying and backed out suddenly they needed to deal with the consequences (mostly the Martyr person didn't get any gain out of being the victim) and now they speak like reasonable people. My Step Mum and Mum actually email back and forth regularly
