Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #162: Love Is In the Air

Howdy Lodge. Crazy busy this week!! Kind of a regular thing now!!!

So, in the subway stations here they have performers/musicians every now and then. There's this one Spanish/Mexican singer who is always in my station who is just fantastic. He's usually there when I head home but was there this morning. As I got off the train he was playing the Ay yi yi yi, Jesus hates Wisconsin! song and now that's all I can hear in my head.

I still say don't do it. You don't need to know their dirty laundry or see them if they aren't on their best behaviour. Even if you confront them later with the facts there will be some reason that doesn't apply. The only confrontation should be that you don't want anything to do with any of it, any time they try to involve you. When you involve yourself, whether you mean to or not, you become a variable that interferes with their dynamic. If you want them accountable then get out of it- no sympathy, no commiseration, no accusations. Just tell them they are grown ups, you know they will work it out some how but kids don't need to know the what or how of it.

Sorry to be so preachy. I got in the middle for yrs. When I finally stopped trying and backed out suddenly they needed to deal with the consequences (mostly the Martyr person didn't get any gain out of being the victim) and now they speak like reasonable people. My Step Mum and Mum actually email back and forth regularly
You're probably right, but I still think its one of those things that needs to be done, just to see how childish they both are.

Back from bringing Lil to get checked out. Pneumonia. Kid is in amazing shape- had pneumonia and still has been running. His legs feel 'tired', other than that he is disgruntled at having to take meds and being told to rest. His face when told that was priceless.

I wish we had that more around here... My station used to have a guy playing a guitar on a regular basis but the county chased him off... Instead we have this falsetto singing guy that WaPo loves but I can't stand

Maybe those who came to the FF in Tampa remember, but outside the rink towards the city they usually have a few guys doing percussion with 5 gallon buckets that are usually really good to listen to. One of the things I miss about taking the subway in NYC. Some real talented groups there too.

Back to work in an hour or so. NOLA tonight, then boat in the morning.

Sitting in a test cell....watching an engine shake.

1,000 times better than sitting in a Tech bar listening to twang................. :D

By the way, did this Tech bar serve Kool-Aid? If so, bring a couple gallons back for some of the sccc fans. :p
