Good Morning Lodge.

Did I stumble into the TV talk thread by mistake? ;)

The kid's team lost last night. First loss in a non-tournament game and first loss to an in-state team. Minnetonka played really well and our guys didn't. Normally solid d-men made dumb turnovers and goalie let a couple softies in. Lotta standing around too.

Morning, all.

Fun Zamboni game on the Google doodle today.

Was just coming here to post that. I just wasted about 10 minutes that I don't have playing it. Then had to waste more time coming here to post about it. :) Also, on another website I was checking, the Amazon.com banner ad was displaying Miracle on sale for $1.99. I'd buy it if I didn't already have it.

Man, first we give every kid a ribbon for participation now we're training our immune systems to be a bunch of limp-wristed sissies...

My mom used to get so mad at me when any participation BS ribbons/awards went straight to garbage can when I was a kid.

I am not sure I follow you.

Also, I am a father to a son that has Cerebal Palsy. He has a very difficult time doing anything physical. Walking, eating, writing, talking etc. When he receives a "participation ribbon" he lights up like a Christmas tree and it does incredible things to his self confidence and self esteem. It makes his f ing day. I respect your opinion but until you have walked a mile in my sons shoes or in my families shoes you have no clue how the little things in life make a big difference. (steps off the soap box)

Saw a report on TV earlier this week about how farm living helps kids develop their immune systems a lot faster, and be more robust. They even went thru on their study to show that even just having a pet cat or dog helps kids to not have asthma or allergies.

Nothing builds the immune system like playing in **** as a kid! Its what I attribute my excellent immune system to. I also refuse any kind of that skin sanitizer BS, and very rarely take any kind of medicines (only the occasional Advil for headaches)

When I was a kid, I got fevers and sore throats every hour on the hour. At 3 I had my tonsils removed. Nothing since.

Do you ever hear someone say something or post something that is so off base that you want to correct them, but you know that by arguing about it you're giving them credibility they shouldn't have? But at the same time, you feel you can't just let that comment slide? What is the correct response?
