Hey now, we start every year in first!;) 8-5 in league play with one to go until the New Year. Heck of a turn around for us, and I'm gonna continue to enjoy it game by game!

Lil got his first letter of interest from a college re his running yesterday. He is only a Jr. Made the prospect of college more real and scary.
Yikes. I am not ready for that stuff.

Gotta run some errands today, and then I think there will be some "pre-gaming" at Chez Rube for bbdl's birthday outing at Toby Keith's. Should be a fun time.

Good Morning Lodge.

If April showers bring May flowers, what do December showers bring? It's been raining here since about 3 AM. Washing away snow and ice from our poorly plowed streets, but could be a mess when the temp starts dropping and it changes to snow later as forecast.

Huh. No rain here, but everything is melting like a mofo. And yes, it's gonna be messy later today/tonight.

i'm guessing there are not a lot of schools that give scholarship money for that (unless you are a girl).

Good morning Lodge. Going to try and get my try up today. Got most of my Christmas cards done. All the stuff I ordered online has arrived! That wasn't so bad after all.

c'mon! that wasn't mookie's intent at all. mookie himself got letters for golf when he was in lil's position. schools that mookie wanted nothing to do with, but it does a lot for a kids self esteem to see that what you work on draws interest (same with academic letters that came). in the golf case it was schools that maybe get one or two spots that they can give schollies and that's it. wasn't big schools that fill their entire starting team with rides.

now would there be schools that have that money to share? i'm sure (though i don't follow athletics so i don't know which schools are the players there) there are, but your smaller schools don't. however, it is still something to be a letter winner on campus and that achievement goes far in life when you interview later on, connections, etc.

Hello lodge.

Last night was fun. Went out to eat for my bday with my family and gf, then we all met up with some family friends for a comedy/concert/show at another bar that was really fun. It was a good night. I'm just waiting for gf to get done with work then we're going to my parents house ans she's going to bake cookies with my mom and I'm going truck shopping with my dad (not for me, he needs a new one). Might even visit my dad's friend and inquire about getting a revolver. I want to get a replica of an old Colt, and he might be able to hook me up. Then driving back to the cities to meet up with Brent and other friends for more bday fun tonight. Tomorrow I think I'm going to Cabelas to get some hardware for my new sling for the .12 gauge, and may also get the .223 coyote rifle I've been wanting for the last year if they have a good used one. It's my birthday, I'm going to splurge.
