Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

She walked away from what sounded like an awesome job, she shouldn't be whining.

She worked on an oil rig from which Ive heard pretty much blows except the pay is awesome, although she is a dumbass for not having a job lined up before she quit.

Im really getting sick of more responsibility at work, longer hours and same pay. Anyone looking for a design engineer?

Problem is 90 percent of them are located beneath a pair of golden arches.
Nope. Most of them are retail and non-fastfood restaurants. Today I saw that the local Lowe's is hiring.

And I agree that my sister has no reason to whine, she's in this position by no one's fault but her own.

I had a very productive day. Went to the bank. Stopped at Target and bought a wedding gift for a buddy's wedding. Drove over to White Bear Lake to buy a case of oil filters, and a fuel filter. Cleaned/reorganized the house a bit. Went to Lowe's to buy a light for my bedroom, and everything to install it, then got it all installed. (my bedroom only had an outlet that was switched, for a lamp to be plugged in, which was really stupid. So I had to splice into the wire, run wiring to where I wanted the light fixture, install the junction box/fixture mounting, and install the light itself. Didn't take as long as I thought it would, and it turned out great!)

Outlets controlled by light switches are the work of the devil.

Agreed! During the course of my wiring, I re-wired that outlet so it isn't controlled by a switch anymore, the switches only control the new lights.

I just hope that I don't burn down my house with all of the bbdl caliber electrical work that I'm doing. :p

I agree. Who came up with that nonsense?

Builders too cheap to put in ceiling lights.

My parents place has those stupid switches, every time I go over there I try to turn on a dam light and turn off the TV.

I hate the light switches that do NOTHING. I have one in my apt currently. I've tried everything short of ripping apart the wall. I have no idea what it does, if it does anything at all.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

Wasn't there a sitcom that did something with mystery a mystery light switch? Ended up turning on/off a light in Asia or something?

"Friends." It was in Joey/Chandler's apt, and it turned Monica/Rachel's tv on and off.

Edit: yes, I know that I know way too much random pop culture crap like that.

Evening Lodge. Got the girlfriends dog back to her today. Kind of miss having him around now.

I hate switches that turn off outlets... power of the devil and all.
