Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

Morning.

Had an interesting weekend of flight delays due to Issac. But did end up going to Roanoke.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

Good morning Lodge. Just got into the office about 10 minutes ago. I slept through my alarm and the orange line was having serious issues this morning. Why did I sleep through my alarm? Because I was at the Madonna concert last night. Now, I'm not here to debate types of music, etc. I don't care to have my musical tastes questioned. I get who she is, the diva behavior, the commentary, whatever. I've been a fan of hers for a long time and have seen her in concert several times. I will however complain about how inconsiderate she was to not go on stage till ****ing 10:21. For a concert that was supposed to start at 8:00pm. Which is what the ticket said and I KNOW it wasn't going to start at 8:00. But 10:21???? On a Tuesday?? With no reason given? She's on my **** list at the moment as is the TD Garden. Don't get me started on their behavior. The show itself was great and the seats were excellent and I should have had a fabulous night. The people watching itself was a trip.

Also..... GET OFF MY LAWN. :)

You went to a concert on a Tuesday? YOU went to a concert on a Tuesday. That just seems like it was doomed from the word go.

Also, I heard a radio report yesterday that she was over three hours late to start a concert this past weekend. Fans started booing her when she finally got on stage.

**** Comcast... My last ebill got caught in the spam filter and the autopayment didn't go through... 300 dollar cable bills are a tad annoying.

Makes one want to switch to DSL and forget about Cable.

Except DSL is slow and can disconnect a lot easier than cable internet does.

I wondered what time you were going to be rolling in here. I knew what kind of mood you would be in. :p.

Roku. Costs $100 for the box and can stream Netflix, Hulu, etc. Also has NHL, MLB, and NBA packages, but they're spendy. Still cheaper than cable, though.

Good Morning (barely) Lodge.

Yeah, I can't imagine what Opposite Girl was thinking in going to a Tuesday concert. ;)

bb - I saw on TV that your favorite store is hiring too. I would think a farm girl like your sis could fit in there.

She could work there, but she won't, because she only wants to get a job that is in her field.

At Tampa Int'l, flying back to Houstown to get back on the boat in the morning. Got a round of golf in with a couple buddies from school today before getting here, played pretty well for not touching the clubs in 6 weeks. Can't wait to get back to my house in October, hoping I remembered to do all the things I had to in order to leave it in order for when I get back.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

I loved my job...but, they made me quit before I had a new one lined up. :p :(

May have found one that will combine by expertise in customer service and aviation, writing a cover letter (I HATE these), and waiting on a reference...then I'll send in my resume.

Hosting airplane-themed birthday parties? ;)

Funny, I'm thinking I'm going to switch to Comcast this week. **** Dish.
Except DSL is slow and can disconnect a lot easier than cable internet does.

Thinking of switching from CenturyLink to Comcast - don't want to mess around with a dish, and like JF says, DSL is slow and disconnects a lot. They also jacked our rates.

But you still need the internet for it to work, right? Doesn't solve any problems for me. As for the TV channels, all of that stuff would be kinda nice, but I'd probably just get a PS3 or XBox.

Afternoon, Lodge. I suppose someone did me a favor by jacking my bike sometime this week (saw it a few days ago) - they must have known I'd be late to work if I rode instead of driving.

Yes you would, but you could drop the cable portion of your bill and funnel it into a faster connection or save a pretty significant chunk of change.

If you're going to go the console route, get a PS3. It does Blu-Rays and online access is free.

But you can't get actual TV on one of those things, right? I couldn't sit down and watch The Discovery Channel or FX, like I can with satellite or cable, if I understand it correctly. There are too many shows that I watch, to just have to give them up with only glorified youtube videos to replace them.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #155: Back to School

So one of my wife's sisters is not happy with how my wife and her other sister a planning a shower for their neice (first sister's daughter). Apparently she's mad at my wife because as the neice's Godmother it's "her job" to plan the shower, not the other sister - who wants to plan it. I don't get women......they are a weird & petty bunch. :)
