Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

We're going to the State Fair tomorrow, Brent, MNS, gf and me. I was thinking that there would be more, but people are probably busy. Is anyone else interested in going? State of Hockey? BPH, I'm sure your girlfriend would love to experience it! No one?

The State Fair is stupid. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

I have no desire to go anywhere near the State Fair on a weekend day. It be very close to my definition of hell itself.
I have gotten very good at navigating the crowds, being that I had to be there both weekends (Thursday-Sunday, Friday-Monday) nearly every year from 6th grade until I was a senior in high school.

My cousin got Grand Champion with her barrow today, so I'll have to stop by to see her in the auction tomorrow, in between eating stuff.

Not the crowds themselves, but I'm just too impatient to enjoy waiting in line for everything.

Yeah, I'll agree with that. The lines suck. We'll be there early enough that we should be able to get a bunch of the food before it gets really crazy.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

Hah! I just saw my last rep from bigmrg! I wouldn't mind getting recommended a massager that specializes in interoral work! That sounds excellent! :D

The Helmet Kids are in. They will be taking the Eagan bus to the Fair.

Regarding The Fair: The mister and I are going on Sunday.
Matt and Amy's fall party is tomorrow, so we'll be there.
And we need some much needed us time. We haven't seen each other since the end of July. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

It looks like she has also unfriended me on FB. :(

Sorry, les. I'm very sorry that Pricelss got cancer, but he has been a HUGE doosh on this site for some time and if someone calls him out on it and he can't take it, too bad. Bakunin seems to have taken off too, about the same time as Priceless.

:( I didn't unfriend anyone. I didn't know you could do that and even if I did, I wouldn't have. This wasn't about Priceless as a poster. I thought what was posted was really creepy and disturbing. People are always saying to posters who are upset 'if you don't like it, then you don't belong here'. They are right. I am a wimp and I don't like nasty. I was having a really tough time at work seeing pts who were a mess and this hit a nerve. Board is usually my escape. When I started perseverating about things on here and losing sleep about it, it was time get out for a bit. Doesn't hurt that my laptop at work is fried so I have been working on my home laptop via VPIN which means I can't surf at the same time. Did I ever mention I need to be independently wealthy?

goldy- check your email on this site- haven't been on enough to rep you.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

goldy- hope jr is doing OK. Ribs stuff hurts. You can't rest it without turning blue.

Monster- the inflatable alien made me read this twice and now my brain needs bleach

hp- they are talking about the rivers being low- are you getting stuck in the back log?

If anyone is learning to drive (JF?) they can go with Lil. He is almost legal to do it on his own. If I were a cat I think I would be down a few lives.

LwB- after you finish with Hammer's shovel I'd love a turn to smash my work laptop. Something happened to my profile that won't allow me to log onto the system They rebuilt my profile, leaving out stuff I needed but it got me on for one day. They got hit by a power surge and it crapped out again and started with the same error again (some proxy thingamy that the server does NOT like that no one knows why it is in there and they can't seem to delete). 2 computer specialists later and I am still lugging in my home laptop to get on via VPIN because that is the only way I can get access. Maybe I should use the shovel on the server too! ..... Maybe I will just let St Clown handle it after he clubs the chick like a baby seal.

Scarlet- where is your niece going?

aaaand in the family soap opera news- have to deal with Richard Cranium, my favorite family member, in a few weeks. Just found out this week that he has managed to blow more than a cool million $- all of the money that was supposed to be his kids' (from a legal settlement) and hadn't been paying the mortgage. The (soon to be) exwife found out when they came looking for a payment. She now has to sell the house. His daughter, a Sr, was supposed to have school all paid for. Now she has nothing. I don't think a shovel is good enough for this one. Not sure how I am going to eat a meal in his presence without puking. The only positive is now everyone in the family who told me I had a bee in my bonnet about him and said I exagerated his faults will stop telling me he isn't that bad....

friday night at bristol on my tv.... yeeee-haw!!!

My cousin and his dad are sprint car racing somewhere tonight. That side of my family has always been into racing. When my mom was young, my grandfather always took them to Indianapolis in May.

Nope, I have (thus far) been unaffected by the closures. We slipped through the area that is making the news a few days before this all started. Luckily, Issac will hopefully dump SOME rain SOMEWHERE up north that will make its way down through the Mississippi. I would love for it to just stall for about 4 days somewhere around Cincinnati or over near Cairo, Illinois. The crazy thing? We're still 18" above the historic low water levels of 1988. This year will continue getting worse before it starts to get better, unfortunately.

And that is absolutely horrible, for all involved. Yikes. A shovel definitely isn't suitable for that, you need a solid lead pipe maybe.

Scarlet- where is your niece going?

She's going to Middlesex for a year and is hoping/planning to transfer to UMass Lowell next year. But she said that if you get your Associates and have a 3.0 GPA you can transfer to UML for nothing. Not sure how true that is. Thankfully a few of her friends from high school are going there too.

Wow, that sucks. I'm sure you really didn't want to be right about him, but at least you know your instincts were correct.
