Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #154: Olympics

For those Minneapolis bar crowd people, Bootleggers is officially closed. The city was putting pressure on them to clean up their act for underage drinking violations. So the ownership decided to close its doors instead.

It turns out that the same group of owners also owned Envy, which has also been closed. Why is that? Well, that's the bar the kept having all the shootings just outside its doors after bar close.
I saw that was happening last week. Apparently they've been having problems at both places for several months now, or at least the city has been aware for months now. Bootleggers problems seemed less severe, but still, you can't be serving minors, obviously drunk people and people after hours if you want to keep your license. The Envy problems were worse, as there have been stabbings, shootings and people caught doing hard drugs in the bathroom, at least from the article I read. I also read that the owner of Bootleggers forfeited his license, which means he can open a new bar, re-apply and he'd probably get a new license, since he apparently cooperated with the city. Also, someone could buy Bootleggers and apply for a license and re-open it under the same name, since the license goes with the owner not the business.

I guess I don't really care that either are closing. We used to go to Bootleggers quite a bit, but it has gone very far downhill. More dooshes and ****tier music, where it used to be a more normal crowd and decent live music with a large variety. Envy has always been a doosh magnet with their neon lights and ****ty techno club music.
