Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

My company set some goals from us to meet back in May and June, if met we got to dress casual for the entire month of July, and even allow shorts on Fridays. So I'm walking through the hall in the office, and the floor admin is walking along with my boss's boss, and she looks at me, gets this big smile on her face, "Got your shorts on, huh?" My reply, "Ahh, yeah." Why do people need to sound out the most inane thoughts in their heads? Not every thought a person has is golden, and certainly does not need to be shared. For instance, I have never once spoken my thoughts about this one particular woman in the office, which might end up with me in a lawsuit or at the very least fired. Why? Because that thought's not for everyone's ears.

No but i think pictures of said woman would be appropriate now. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

I had to work at my business unit's new corporate headquarters building yesterday afternoon, its about 15 miles away from my office. I realized that I belong with the engineers, where I am...not with the corporate office type people. Too many people dressed way to fancy. Hell, when I go to work, I have to be ready for the possibility of having to actually turn a wrench on an engine, something these people would be completely unable to do. I can't show up in $800 Italian leather shoes and $200 designer shirts. I guess I'll be happy sitting here instead of in the fancy new building. One thing that sucks...there was much better scenery over there, both kinds.

The scenery was both country AND western?

JF - cameras are forbidden. We have too much sensitive data in the office.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Boss not here. A few members of my team also on vacation. Head of my big project took the day off. Don't have much to do today. So what am I still doing here????
Padding your paycheck while you fool around on here.

Ain't nothing wrong with being a ****kicker. Just sit back and image the freak out scene those ninnies would have if they ever stepped in a hot fresh cow pie in one of them dang there fancy clodhoppers. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

So...no cell phones? Or do you all have Brent phones?

Cell phones are to be kept in your pocket or at your desk at all times. In the unlikely even that you were somehow caught taking photos in the office, the boss can fire you on the spot. The only cameras allowed are pre-approved, and in fixed locations, basically for remote office hookups (like our Mpls office connecting to our east coast dual processing site for "virtual office processing").

I thought that too. No wonder she can't find a job!

Well, there's no getting-it-on in public there; no freaking way. It's just a place they can feel like it's theirs. No different than American high schoolers wanting to hang out in the basement, just to get some distance from the family. But when a family of 4 is sharing an 800 sq ft apartment, there's nowhere to get away. So even a half-hidden corner of an IKEA display room is something.

I have about 800 sq ft right now... I can't imagine having four people in my apartment on a regular basis.

Yeah, you would be about tripping over each other in just that little of space.

Afternoon all, a rare empty slot for me here at work at the moment. Booked up for the rest of the day. I do hope that my 4:15 is here early, give me something to other than to be online today.

My house is only about 1800 ft2 and I couldn't see 4 people there. :p
(I have a small house, but that's all I want/need)
(my garage is about 1000 ft2)

Reads here like you started working at Far East down I95 :D. You wouldn't by chance be using the professional name of "Joy" ;)

Looking for that kind of service from someone who looks like him, would be anything buy Joy, mookie. Besides, he strikes me as more of a Candy, not a Joy.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

My house will be 1760 sqft officially, which is fine for me solo, but also good enough for whenever I find a potential ladyfriend or guests for a week or so.

Ironman Lake Placid is Sunday, people watching while my Mom and Sister shop is mighty entertaining. BizNasty would approve of the talent.
