Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #152: Next to get married?

The last four days we've gone 92-93-98-102. The next two days are forecasted to be 98-100, and those numbers have grown 3 degrees in the last two days. Wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers go 100-105 instead.

Be glad we're not in St. Louis. They're looking at 106-107-104 the next three days, with lows in the 80's. 105-101-100 the last three days there.

Our heat is supposed to "break" (relatively) on Fri, with highs in the mid-80s. Tomorrow is predicted to be 100 real temp, as was today. The high today was 101 real temp, a new record for the day.

And Grey, ok ok, but not by much. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #152: Next to get married?

I spent roughly 16 of the last 24 hours in or on a lake. Didn't think it was very hot at all. :)

I didn't think it felt that hot, but the thickness of the air got to me pretty quick. When I saw 101, I was surprised.

So I guess I won't complain - 66, 65 and 69 last 3 days - 74, 78 and 74 forecast for the next 3 days. I think I will be able to take my sweatshirt off. :p

Cripes there was a crowd at MOA today. I was impressed as little gII enjoyed all the "big kid" rides. He was barely tall enough to get on them. Parents get on free if accompanying their kid.......bonus! Furthermore, we got a pass for little g. The pass enabled him/us to enter the rides via the exit. No waiting in line and he/we had the option of riding twice. Might sound bad at face value but not having to walk stairs and then wait in long lines enabled him to enjoy the day without getting tired and sore.

Starting tomorrow (weather permitting) and going through all next week I will be in or on a lake.

You'd be wrong. I just about die when I step outside of the a/c and hit the wall of heat.

I'm used to it. My career for the last 19 years has been in non-A/Ced places, so I've kind of adapted to it. For example: wore jeans today. ;)

Jeans? You are ***** crazy. The heat is one thing but the humidity takes it to an entirely different level. I got up this morning around 5 and went for a run. Within 90 seconds I broke out in a complete sweat just stretching out.

That doesn't sound bad, at any value. He's got a legit reason for that.

Jeans don't bother me any. They're comfortable. *shrug*

Jeans are comfortable when it's 35 below zero. ;)

Does your place of employment have extra storage space? I am going to need a shiat load of room to store "stuff" for the multiple ttp's I will be throwing for you know who. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #152: Next to get married?

The pass was free. A nice MOA employee approached us and informed us of the option.

Kudos to MOA. Wow.

And note to you: when it's this hot out, everyone goes to malls/movie theaters, not necessarily to shop/watch a movie that they want to see. It's because they are the coldest places in summer. ;)

Except for nightwear (or for my previous softball career), I don't own shorts. :o I never wear 'em.

We have no extra space. Even our "extra" building is at 98% capacity (IIRC, 25K square feet). The CEO of our company's first words when he visited about a year ago were, "You guys need a new building."

Long time ago when I was younger I used to buy a token and ride the subway all day cause it was AC'd and cool. I'd take a book and ride the red line back and forth.
