Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Morning all.

It was a very fun, eventful, and unfortunately, an expensive weekend for me. Received a ticket for $303 due to having one foot on the grass and one foot on the sidewalk drinking a beer.

While being underage. When I first read that I thought it was "one foot on the gas" and wondered why were out of jail already. :p

Was it an underage thing? Because I could see a ticket for that more than one foot on the grass and one foot on the sidewalk. And I too read it as one foot on the gas. :)

He probably got this ticket because he was underage, as a lesser charge. My guess is that if he was 21, he wouldn't have gotten a ticket, but the cop was actually being nice, and gave him this instead of an MIP.

Ticket reads, "Unlawful to possess open container of/or consume alcohol beverage on a public alley or street."

I didn't get a ticket for being underage at all, which would have been an additional $177. I was in Madison this weekend, not Mankato.

Well, we already knew Madison sucks, so that clears that up. Of course, if you had been smoking weed, that probably would have been OK in Mad City.

So yeah, I'm back on Twitter. Starting to consider ditching Facebook, it's gotten entirely too silly.

Name has been changed to Twitch_Boy.

Well....Madison sucks more than Mankato, so that makes sense.

This is the big thing. Technically it is my fault, but wasn't there bigger fish to fry? A simple "stay off the sidewalk" would've sufficed, but it's whatever now.

Also, for you college football fans, Montee Ball was right there with me, in the area we all recieved tickets, and also received a ticket, his for trespassing.

Damm, it is a good thing that they don't enforce this in Houghton.

Did you profess your love for everything Iowa football in front of him?

So that's what the redneck rubes are calling it these days..... :p

Sorry, couldn't resist.

In other news, I have an appointment Wednesday afternoon to see if we can reach an agreement on roles, responsibilities and compensation with one of the firms I've already interviewed with. It'd be a contract-to-hire position (if they hire me on contract and keep me there for 6 months the recruiter charges them no fee to hire me direct). I also got contacted by another firm in town who wants to meet soon. I used to work there, but they've been acquired by a bigger national outfit. I applied on-line and it took them forever to work through their corporate system and get back to me.

Wow, that's good news!

Nutty day. One of my regular Thursday friends IMd me to ask if I would still be here at 6 as she is also having A Day and needs a glass of wine. How could I refuse?? I told her I almost contacted her to ask her the same question. I could be doing this a lot from now through to July 4th.

I know I asked the rules before some DC cop or park ranger decided I needed a baton to the kidney when I bought that beer at the refreshment stand on the national mall yesterday.

In other news, you can buy beer on the national mall (don't recall if I said that yesterday).
