Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Morning.

Pittsburgh was fantastic. Well not the city, just the visit. ;)

Still planning to move July 1st, regardless of my job situation. 'Eff them trying to screw me over.

Morning Lodge.

Congrats Mel! Best of luck with the new job (hope it lasts longer than my last new job did).

les, how did lil do at his meet this weekend?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

Mornin', Lodge.

I start a new job today. :)
The only drawback, at the moment, is the commute. Mounds View to Burnsville is not going to be fun. (30 miles one way for those of you not fortunate enough to live in Minnesota. ;))
Looking for new living arrangements that the mister will agree to.
Hooray for the new job! Congrats mel!

Good morning, Lodge.

Ran the mile leg of the DMR and eh only a 4:56. I think he is in a growth spurt. He's eating like an animal and times are sort of stuck with lots of complaining legs are dead. Of course this could be that he ran a 1 mi/2 mi double when he was sick and then ran a very hard workout about 2 days later and promptly got very sick. I can't get the thought process of that. This week he ran the mile yest then is running the Mi on Wed and the 2 on Friday. Um- rest might be good in a kid who is already c/o his legs feel like mmmph. High School track baffles me.

Congrats mel on the job. 30 miles isn't terrible depending on traffic...but it can wear on you. I'm hoping to escape my 50+ mile commute. Interview today across the street from where I used to work.

Question for the Lodge drinkers: what burbon is good? I'm usually a rum drinker..but will need burbon satureday to make mint juleps

First of all, it is spelled bourbon. ;)

If you're making juleps, go with Makers Mark. I look at a mint julep as a drink that needs a high quality liquor, but it doesn't need something really high end. So Makers Mark fits the bill nicely

edit: Also, brent, this reminds me, we were way off with our guess of when the derby is, it is this Saturday.

You know, there is this thing called the internet where you can go to get answers to questions like that, instead of guessing. :p

So, bb, is there any good turkey hunting land on your family farm?

You know what is crazy? I used that thing called the internet to get an actual answer to that question yesterday. :p

It seems like we have a bunch of turkeys. Some people have hunted it in the past, but I don't know if there is anyone turkey hunting there anymore, probably not. I would guess that it is good for turkey hunting, except that during turkey season it is tough to get out there since the crops are in, unless you get a spring tag, then you can get out there before planting.

The preferred season is A, or first season. We hunted last weekend during A season south of Red Wing and nothing was in yet, although fields were plowed. Season A has about a 43% success rate and they fall off from there then pick back up in the later seasons, presumably due to reduced hunting pressure.

Finals week..woo.

The library is packed and it's loud. I have no focus. Just trying to grind through the week!

The Kentucky Derby is ALWAYS the first Saturday in May.

Going to the bayou next week for a couple days. Yee haw, with a cajun accent.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

So, we're still planning on all getting together Memorial Day weekend, right?
I should find out for sure this week. I'm planning on calling Bismarck tomorrow while the rest of the class is taking the CTO (took and passed it at UND, so I don't have to). Going on what my classmates have said after talking to their facilities I'm not anticipating a problem.

Had performance skill checks today on ground, local, and clearance delivery. Apparently, I'm not too bad at this controller thing. :)

Get into the simulators starting tomorrow. It's go time. :D

This is a problem at my school as well and it makes me f&* crazy!  It's a ****ING library!! SHUT UP! I will probably be avoiding it this week (my final is on Thursday).

Best of luck, MNS!

Our union is quieter than our library.. Seriously keep your convos out of the library and let it serve it's purpose.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #149 - Best adaptation of a movie title-and the lodgie goes

MNS: good luck, we're all counting on you.

And as for the Derby, I never pay attention until it's here. And when I wondered about when it was, bbdl's phone was the only internet available and we didn't think of looking it up because we didn't care THAT much.

Congrats on all the new jobs!
