Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Morning. 12 days until a much deserved 3 week weekend for me. I was thinking about this yesterday, I'll have had precisely 8 days off from Dec 29-Mar 27.

It is behind the DQ.

I've been there!

Delayed opening at work this morning due to a power outage. The employee notification said the building opens at 10am. I wonder if it will go later. Supposed to go out for a beverage tonight but don't know if hottie bartender's place has power either.

And we all wish you were there this year. :(

Up and ready. Cooler packed, gear ready, it's time! Let the fun begin!

I have a bunch of meetings all morning, then at noon I'm out of here.

HOLY ****! I just went into our time tracking website, where we are required to record when we're taking our vacation days. I should only have 2 weeks of vacation, but according to the site, I have 3 weeks! This is like Christmas x10!!!!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 146: Playoff Hockey Activities

Greetings from my couch! Yup, power never came back on. Or, if it did, it didn't happen till after I left. Before I left my place a little after 9am, got another call from the automated system. Saw the number and thought...."Hmmmm, are we closed??" Nope, just another call to say "We're open at 10am." Get to the office, walk in the front door, was stopped - "Which building do you work in? This one or the connected one?" When corporate headquarters was first built, it was just this main building. We now own the whole block (among other buildings in the neighborhood) and I said "The connected one." "Yeah, this building has power but yours doesn't. Delaying the opening till noon." Um, OK. Now what to do? I didn't get the chance to get my HE tickets at Agganis yesterday so I thought "Perfect - box office opens at 10am. I'll take the T there to pick them up." Made it back to the office by 10:50. Now what. Well, since two of our buildings had power, I went visiting. The guy I had an 11:30 meeting was in a building with power so I went to his office not knowing he had just sent a meeting cancellation. Ha! So, I went to the power-free cafeteria to hang for a bit. It was 12:10 with no word of power coming back so I managed to get up to my desk and picked up my laptop so I could work from home. Not sure why I did that as I probably won't do anything. :)

It's the attempt you're trying to make that matters.

I've seen nose picking rallies more exciting than this dial-in virtual conference I'm in now.
