GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! wobbly wednesday
Snow/sleet/freezing rain/or not the next day or so.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

Good Morning Lodge.

Snowmageddon 2012 has arrived and jr's school is delayed 2 hours. Good thing I was planning to take a half day, or maybe a whole day off today. Very heavy, wet crap out in our area - slush with wet snow on top. Still not really cold enough to turn it to ice pack - that's all that I'm really worried about. Also had a power flicker while I was out shoveling, screwed up the computer and took a couple tries to restart. Don't know if I'll make it over to Mariucci for the high school games tonight. A little doubtful since the one I want to see starts later ~8:30 by my guess. :(

Greetings from the auto repair place. :( (My front license plate bracket fell off when someone backed into it. No other damage.)

Morning.

Snow looks pretty, also looks heavy and wet. Glad I am at home today.

**** you, Mother Nature! I made you my ***** this morning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

Good morning Lodge.

Glad to hear little gII is recovering well.

OMG ice storm never occured here...or at least temps were up and all was rain by morning commute.

In other news, I made an interviewer squirm yesterday. Asked him a tough question and his body language turned to 'i want out of here'. Not sure how to interpret that.

Depends on the question. Was it sexual in nature?

'Morning, Lodge. The snow rolled in. We have the Weather Channel guys down where I usually run.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

It'll be 50 degrees by then. It might push 60 on Friday.

****storm 2012 has not yet commenced here at the Hammer Palatial Estates.
Looks like we didn't get diddly here at all in my neck of the woods.

You wouldn't take a shovel to a guy who wears glasses would you? ;)
Of course he would, he's a Clinton Redskin, so you know he's hostile and abusive. ;)

Yawn, about time to go get a shower and head on into work.

Hi Lodge. Expecting snow here after 3:00pm into tomorrow. I wore my snow boots (which I bought in Noember and wore for the first time last weekend up in Vermont), brought a hat and my umbrella. So it's safe to say we probably won't see a flake or a drop. :)

Good Morning Lodge. We have some falling snow here (but it looks like a light dusting thus far), but didn't start until after 9AM.

Good morning Lodge.

So on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, all we heard on the local news was that the sky would be falling on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and it's ho-frickin'-hum. Even with the normal seasonal weather we got, the number 4 news still spent the first ten minutes of its half-hour covering the different places where the snow fell. The TV news is just irritating; I happened across it by accident and it serves as a good reminder why I never watch those broadcasts.

No, but then again, I've learned from this crowd that anything can be twisted and considered sexual in nature.

I asked a question that a recruiter suggested once and I've been using ever since. "Do you have any concerns that I may not be the ideal canidate for this position?" I like this question because often it gives me a chance to correct a misconception and it also helps me understand what others may believe my shortcomings are.

The CEO of [company] North America said "that's a very good question" and then began looking uneasy and finally said something about youth and experience. Perhaps it's because he said "you're very young" and then realised he's not allowed to discriminate based on age. Here I thought age discrimination was for older people.

I love it. I need to jot that down in my portfolio so I don't forget that one when I go into my interviews.

As for discrimination, yeah, too "young" is also an issue along with too "old."

The new fancy discrimination tool is "how long have you been out of work," with companies shying away from the long (6+ months) unemployed and preferring people who are 3 months or less out of work. Reportedly, they'd ideally like people who are still employed and just switching companies.

Gas just hit $4.09 here. My Jeep just pitched a tent in the park and got pepper sprayed in the face.

Diesel has been up there for a while now. Just suck it up and quit complaining or be a queer and join the Prius cult.
