Good Morning, gmann!

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

I got a call from our security company (for work) at 2 this morning that an alarm had been activated. Rushed to the office and deactivated the thing. Turns out a helium balloon floating around the ceiling activated the motion detectors. I am the last person the company calls which means that five others failed to answer their phone. I am going to fix that tomorrow.

Good Morning Lodge.

Jr's team won their last regular season game last night 7-0. They finished undefeated in District play and are the #1 seed in the playoffs which start next Saturday.

I'm interested to see what our turnout will be for a service project today. Our boys are supposed to help out with coaching a Special Hockey team at noon. One of the boys' younger brother is autistic and plays on this team. It is about 20 kids age 6-20 who mostly are autistic or have Down's. Hope all of our boys show up. In any case it should be fun.

Good luck to gmann and lil gII, hope the roads are clear for your trip.

If the crap hits later in the day, he may luck out. Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning is likely to be the worst of it.

Most of the scenarios dump at least a half foot of snow on the twin cities and points northward. The worst case scenario (low pressure stays in Iowa, no dry slot, and no rain/sleet mixing in at all) yields 20" in spots with widespread 12-18" totals. Things could be a gigantic cluster**** by Wednesday morning.

Scott K hasn't weighed in for what we are getting yet. He is better than any of the weatherguessers on TV

Yaaaa, was at the sleeping HHT last night, had to win to get home ice, and the boys got it done. Seeded 8th for playoffs, hosting Dartmouth next weekend. Could end up being 4 games in 8 days against the Big Green. Really hoping I'll be flying home by then, but don't know just yet.

Yep, I fell asleep at 7pm central last night. And I'm alright with that.

MN Special Hockey?

Regarding little gII, thank you. Thank you very much.

Tell me about it. The experts said we were supposed to get 2 - 4 inches last night. Not one snowflake.

Bought groceries for the first time since the first week of January. ****ty.

I'm starting to lean towards finding a coffee shop or something closeby with wifi for work on Wednesday.

Whoever decided that Lenny Kravitz was a good choice for the Daytona pre race concert is either a moron or is clueless about NASCAR's target audience.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

I don't know why on earth you're watching pre-race coverage. Green flag at 1:30.

A few years ago they got the bright idea to put Chubby Checker in front of a mic before the race. Now, those that actually remember him at the time of his music are probably pushing 65-70, and given their audience, most didn't like him in the first place. These people that think this is a good idea need to be......you guessed it.........beaten with a shovel.

I was unpacking groceries and making lunch and just turned on the TV and it was the first thing I saw on the guide. I was only half assedly watching it. I'm not going to be watching it all the way up to the green flag.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

Hockey gorge week starts Friday! Vacation day to get the lad at school so I can be home on time to see MN host some bottom feeders from an unmentionable state to the east then vacation W-TH-FR for the HS hockey tourney & some WCHA hockey at Mariucci.

From Friday - Saturday (or Sunday if MN screws the pooch) I will see a dozen or so HS & college games. HOO-RAH!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

Maybe by having those music choices they are trying to bring in a new audience? I agree it's moronic, but I can easily see that being the reasoning.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 145: are you giving up something for lent??

People are not going to spend the next 4 1/2 hours watching anything just because someone is singing on TV for 4 minutes.

"Gee, Lenny Kravitz/Chubby Checker/[insert whatever dick-in-the-butt pop artist here] is singing two songs at 1 PM. I think I'm going to watch this until dinner time!!". Um.....uh-uh.

This people isn't going to spend one minute watching a bunch of people drive fuel guzzling cars in a circle while other people act like something exciting is happening and yell wildly into a microphone about it. Even the ads are boring (at least the Stupid Bowl has good ads).

I didn't realize the Daytona was this weekend until I saw yesterday's paper.
