Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I got home from hockey last night and decided to shovel the driveway because the snowfall had slowed to just the slowest of rates. That was some really heavy snow. I prefer the light, fluffy stuff we get from Canada, not the heavy stuff coming out of the SW. Because then I whine, like I'm doing now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

In other news, it is super hard to find motivation at current job when I have 3 and possibly 4 interviews over the next 2 weeks. Perhaps the job market is picking up.

It seems like it - I've gotten two offers for jobs in the last week. Still not my preferred field, but it's money.

But Maaaaaaarccccccciaa, the snow is heaaaaaaaaaaavyyyyyyyyyy! ;)

Morning, Lodge.

Is that overage stuff that you get from Canada? ;)

S'upp y'all

No hockey players arrested today (that I know of)

If the job market is picking up, it hasn't started yet here in Illinois. One interview this week, and still no responses from the 30 resumes I sent out last month.

Guess who did what she was supposed to, and still has two dry sockets...

Really?

Smoking may be a contributing factor, possibly due to the decreased amount of oxygen available in the healing tissues. It is advisable to avoid smoking for at least 48 hours following tooth extraction to reduce the risk of developing dry socket.

That sucks. If it makes you feel any better, a buddy of mine had some tooth cut out due to an infection, and is probably looking at root canals and other fun oral surgery since that hasn't stopped the pain and such.

Done for the day, get to work the next 2 days with an old timer who can't read or write! Good thing he can drive a boat real well, I'll be doing all the paperwork and computer stuff for him. Silly coonasses from Louisiana. Happy Fat Tuesday too!

Don't worry. We know someone who won it and it was not much butter, certainly not as much as your family can eat in a year.

Did you get your picture taken with Goldy though? That's the real prize! :D

I did. He walked down our aisle and I took his picture and then we got one with all of us. I mentioned to Goldy that I was going to make toilet paper with the picture I took of him. He then proceeded to do something behind my back that caused a few laughs from the crowd. I then asked goldy if U of M had permission from BSU to use the likeness of Bucky the Beaver.

In fact, Goldy did his "spin your head" and "spin your body" thing right in front of me (or something like that). He ain't no Bucky but on the shoestring budget the U operates on it will do. ;)

Seriously though, great atmosphere and all the goofer fans I met were good people.

I take it you didn't go to TK's to meet up with Brent.

Finally broke down and got a Kindle Fire, since I've been flying/travelling more. And since it's been mostly to CO (where DIA has free Wifi), the purchase made sense. After an hour of *ing around with it, and getting the Netflix app, I could end up really liking it. Frustrating though, at first. Still have a lot of questions on how to work the dam thing/do things on it.

Mine so far has been an Angry Birds machine, as I haven't really worked with it yet.

I bet there's an app to balance your checkbook.

bbdl brought his over one day, and once I found that Netflix worked on it, as well as books (and the web browsing was a bonus), I was totally sold on taking a chance on it. When I fly I usually have to take 3-5 books to pass the time (yeah, I read fairly quickly). This will help a ton.

Edit: ctf: I don't balance my checkbook. I know what I have. I can do that sh* in my head, since I don't write that many checks. :p
