Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

watching military channel right now. they are showing something on reagan getting shot. amazing how long it took for them to even realize he'd been shot. then afterwards how long to get information. wow.

and the odd, beleagured female writer defending something but I never figured out what.

she wrote something after trivino and around coyle's leaving that coyle wasn't a drinker and was a nice guy. they something about how a sober trivino never hit on her while some others had. then a couple days ago she wrote that noonan is 'the' premier dman in hea.

Oh, she is living in an alternative universe. Now I get it.

That and some twerps from up the road started picking on her about the "flirting with her" comment which temporarily prompted her to stop posting... but, you sometimes gotta have thick skin to post in these boards.

School vacation week... what do you do with a 6 year old in February with not a flake of snow to sled on?

Gonna do the local ski hill one day... maybe the tubing park another... but man we are at a loss for stuff to do!

Ice rink for open skating? Maybe one of those indoor climbing parks?

When all else fails, push the sofas and the chairs into a circle, cover them with sheets, and make a cave. That never gets old. (To my 8-yr-old, or to me. :p)

edit: But yeah, if you could go sledding, that'd be the thing.

Morning!

Snow actually fell last night. Looks good this morning, but its that sticky slushy stuff that will screw up the commute home I'm sure.

Ralph doesn't wake up, because he doesn't sleep.

What Dave said. Also-
-get a big sweater tub (the under bed kind) pour in a 10lb bag of rice. Get out the construction trucks and have at it. Put it on a big table cloth so it catches the overflow.
-If near a city- ride the subway (this was always a big hit).
-Nerf guns- great fun for all.
-If you have a yard- any old boxes taped up can be used like blocks. We always had boxes that Mr les would say he was going to 'get to' throwing away. Taped them up and used them like giant building blocks to make castles and then one side used 'cannon' balls to break the walls.
-Scavenger hunt.
-if you have a movie camera- make a movie, make cookies/popcorn and 'make' a movie theater to watch the movie
-pillow fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Good Morning Lodge.

The snow is pretty but messy and won't last, already above freezing. I had to wipe it off the satellite dish this morning so I could get reception.

I'll take "I'm doing this the next time we move" for 800, Alex. :D
Morning, lodge!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Well, my morning started off crappy. Nothing like getting yelled at by a grammar nazi first thing in the morning. Oh, hi, diva! ;)

Boo snow. At least it's not cold out.

This can also make for a great date night if you're a dork like me. Built a fort, ate grilled cheese and watched a disney movie.

In other news, it is super hard to find motivation at current job when I have 3 and possibly 4 interviews over the next 2 weeks. Perhaps the job market is picking up.

Congrats!

Just remember, you still have you old job until you get the new offer in writing.
