I haven't played with Netflix at all. I've only downloaded one book so far.

Netflix works nicely. Haven't done the book thing yet. I need to find a couple I want to read (as I have recently bought all the ones I've wanted).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I believe they go by 'magazines'

Well played.

Actually, it's more along the line of books that are history pictorials, like Life Magazine's Century of Change (100 years in pictures), a book on the history of goalie masks, Rolling Stone photo collections, etc. I love those types of books.

This can also make for a great date night if you're a dork like me. Built a fort, ate grilled cheese and watched a disney movie.

In other news, it is super hard to find motivation at current job when I have 3 and possibly 4 interviews over the next 2 weeks. Perhaps the job market is picking up.

It seems like it - I've gotten two offers for jobs in the last week. Still not my preferred field, but it's money.
The past 3 months at Balance we have broken the session record each month. and have had pretty good average daily session rates, and new client rates as well. Still got a week to go in February yet, but it should be up there pretty high as well. That's a pretty good sign that the economy is turning around locally if a service industry like massage is on the uptick, people have got to be feeling a little more comfortable with their jobs.

That or they're just so stressed out that they need some relief, but I would want to be a glass half full about all of this. Right now the word is that they're looking to hire about 3 more female therapist, and frankly, we need em all soon.

Evening all. The supporting boyfriend did good today, got all of the tissues needed, and it didn't get really ugly there when she was telling the family her deep dark secret from childhood.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Very rewarding day at clinicals today (I've very much enjoyed the time I've been able to spend in the hospital). Unfortunately, it got capped with being pulled over (again) - totally my fault, I haven't been able to afford my car registration and it was due in December. I just paid it about 2 minutes ago though, so hopefully I'll be in the clear; I just won't be able to afford to eat or put gas in my car for another 10-12 days, if not longer. Really enjoying the nursing stuff, but there is SO MUCH work involved with school and clinicals, and it's tiring!! Rewarding and awesome, but tiring.

You deadbeat! :D

(Totally joking! Lots of love to the lovely ladies! :))

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

On the job front, I think we figured it out. Only getting out with about 1/2 hour OT each night, which is fine given our corporate-mandated cutoff time. Bad part is only because I can't frivolously spend money on stuff. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

And I'd just like to add, pre-emptively to Lodge 145: WHERE'S THAT POLE!!!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Bacon, Giada, hockey, and Freddie. Other than that, I don't care.
