Morning, Lodge. Kudos on the job offer, bbdl! Even if it means you have to move to *ing Green Bay, it's worth considering.

Also, I've decided it's finally cold enough in MN... for me to zip the outer liner back onto my coat. ;)

Not sure whether or not I shared this here, but I had my most rewarding moment as a human being last Friday. I helped deliver a baby girl in our ambulance.

Major internal network outage at my company since about 11:30 this morning, and it's affecting not only us and our ability to work, but a lot of customers too. :o :(

I don't remember if you shared it here, but I do remember seeing it on Facebook and/or Twitter. That must have been awesome and terrifying at the same time. Good job though. :)

Both of these things are awesome :D I doubt MythBusters will go away - they'll have to spend the next 15 years on the air to pay off the damages, lol. And for 'ewe, hopefully this is the start of a long and happy career!

After paying whatever they end up having to pay, Mythbusters will probably just find another location for their projectile-related experiments.

Yeah, if you're coaching the young ones, you're not really skating all that much. Dress warm. Last night was not warm, just 12 degrees in Apple Valley when I got off the bus at 6:15.

They also sell patches that have sticky backs, and you apply it to either the sole or the tongue. The problem with those warmers is that they can get too hot. I put the small satchels into my skates because I didn't know about the adhesive version, and while they were tight, my toes never got cold when it was -10 during last year's pond hockey tournament.

I'd agree with wearing a pair of choppers, and buying the glove liners to wear inside the choppers, except that they don't have to be silk - I have the cheap stretchy gloves that work great inside my hockey gloves.

I have a thin, warm beanie that I wear under my helmet during the really cold days. I'd recommend doing that if you're required to wear a helmet due to USA Hockey coaching rules. Make sure you re-size your helmet to account for the hat.

I'd also suggest some insulated moisture wicking undergarments, and wear a layer of cotton clothes over the wicking layer, and then another insulating layer over that. It'll keep you much warmer.

Grr. Drove 2 hours home from a conference. On the way home, stuck in traffic, I called Lil to do something for me. Not only did he not do it he has no idea what it was I asked him to do. It is for his awards night tomorrow. I told him if it is messed up I will make sure to tell his teammates he screwed up. Now he thinks I sohould tell him again, when he is listening. Is it against the parenting rules to tell your kid to F off? :mad:

I don't know yet. I think I have through the holidays to decide, and I'm not sure how official it was, but they were definitely interested, and were trying to get me to agree to come over to their location when we were out drinking last night. I think I will tell them tomorrow that I am interested and ask for more information, then see when I have to make a decision by and what I'll need to do to get the ball rolling. The thing that makes me nervous is that this would not be in the direction that I had decided I wanted to go. I want to keep working on alternative fuel projects, but this would be moving to working on standard gasses, like nat gas and propane, but I would be in charge of engineering for the entire line of generators, with a team of engineers reporting to me. I would actually be the guy that signs off on engineering decisions that would shape the entire product line, plus take on all of the responsibility...holy crap...I'm less than 3 years out of school, this shouldn't happen yet. Its a huge decision that I have to think about a bunch.

The guy that I was working with, the head of the business for my customer, was awesome. He looks like Ron White, and sounds like Ron White, and even talks like Ron White...it was HILARIOUS!!! If I take the job, he would be my supervisor. :p

Take your time, and take a few days to think about it. Don't make up your mind in one shot.

Back in college, we had a political science teacher who told us a story about JFK and how he conducted meetings with his cabinet. Now, I don't know if this story is true, but the gist of it is what I'm trying to get across. When a new idea was brought to the attention of the Cabinet, Kennedy would ask the group, "Do you see any drawbacks here?". If the answer was no, he would always tell them that they would revisit the idea in 30 days. Once 30 days passed, and the issue came up again, inevitably people would have reservations and issues regarding the idea that they thought was so brilliant one month before.

The obvious point is this: an idea, or in this case an offer, might appear to be perfect now. Eventually, and in this case, soon, issues will appear. Take your time and sort through this the best you can, in the time you have. If they're asking you to take this job, right-now-right-this-minute, that's a clear red flag.

Bah, my computer battery is starting to die. Used to have nearly 4 hours of life - I'm lucky to get an hour and a half now. Guess I get to ask for computer money for Christmas, because I can't afford it otherwise. :mad:
