Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Yeah, how does a goalie not turn to ice, just sitting there all night? Poor bastids.

It's not that bad, although it was due to the goalies (I was one of them) that we only played 90 minutes. We planned on 3 hours.*

*A bunch of us always played boot from 6-9 every Fri/Sat night, from HS to our mid-20's. One of my buddies worked the best (as in quality) warming houses/rinks in New Hope MN (had boards, chainlink for the end "netting" and everything), and he basically made the rule that it was boot hockey on those two nights, period. A couple years ago, we wanted to play one of those classic sessions before the Super Bowl. Temp was -20, real temp, prob -25 to -30 windchill. Too bad. This was set in stone. :)

Morning!

Les if what you asked lil to do was for his team, then you shouldn't worry about if he does it or not. As you said, if its messed up, he can explain it to his teammates.

Morning Lodge.

Visitation last night for our friend who died over the weekend. Funeral today - trying to decide if I'll take time off to go... I'm thinking yes.

You can always take the corporate jet back to the TC on the weekends so you can hang at TK's. :)

Did I mention my parents sent me an Omaha Steaks gift pack? :D I received it last night. Can't wait to give it a try!

Oh, I said that. I just wanted to use the f word while doing so

Day 2 of a 24-hour outage and no solution yet. Is it safe to call this a disaster? Fortunately, all of our major customers are still up and running (they have their own dedicated hardware). I wish there was more I could do to help, but I'm not an engineer, so I'm doing a lot of thumb-twiddling and finger-crossing right now.

I had my first article published by mnhockeyhub.com today! Woo!:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

. . . wear choppers, not gloves . . .
. . . I'd agree with wearing a pair of choppers, and buying the glove liners to wear inside the choppers . . .

See, this is why I come to this site: the expertise. I'd never even heard of choppers before. Now I'm eyeing some nice deerskin ones they gave over at Nokomis Shoes.

Palace? Edcumbe? Groveland?

The team is Edgcumbe Rec; practice was at Palace. Sure was a lot of snow on that ice, btw. Whoever runs the blower needs to get on that!

Nice knowing ya, Mythbusters :(

latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/12/mythbusters-cannonball.html
Naw..... that incident and them figuring out just what the hell happened is likely going to give them a nice little ratings bump. If nothing more, give em something to point to when they say, "Don't try this at home Kids!!"

I don't know yet. I think I have through the holidays to decide, and I'm not sure how official it was, but they were definitely interested, and were trying to get me to agree to come over to their location when we were out drinking last night. I think I will tell them tomorrow that I am interested and ask for more information, then see when I have to make a decision by and what I'll need to do to get the ball rolling. The thing that makes me nervous is that this would not be in the direction that I had decided I wanted to go. I want to keep working on alternative fuel projects, but this would be moving to working on standard gasses, like nat gas and propane, but I would be in charge of engineering for the entire line of generators, with a team of engineers reporting to me. I would actually be the guy that signs off on engineering decisions that would shape the entire product line, plus take on all of the responsibility...holy crap...I'm less than 3 years out of school, this shouldn't happen yet. Its a huge decision that I have to think about a bunch.

The guy that I was working with, the head of the business for my customer, was awesome. He looks like Ron White, and sounds like Ron White, and even talks like Ron White...it was HILARIOUS!!! If I take the job, he would be my supervisor. :p
Ya just can't fix stupid!! It sounds like a hell of an opportunity there. The one drawback is that its in Wisconsin, and it would leave you pretty far away from all of your friends and family. Your old man isn't going to be able to use you much on the weekends in the fall running combines if you're out in Green Bay.

Did I mention my parents sent me an Omaha Steaks gift pack? :D I received it last night. Can't wait to give it a try!
Mmmmm..... Meat!

Root canal part 4 complete. Temporary crown is in. I hope I don't lose it. That would just be my luck.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Congrats! Link

What's that goalie's name again? :p

Thanks! And for adding the link! It's nothing special or anything but it's cool to see your work displayed!

I know, right? Trust me, I would've loved to messed with it, as I hate Albert Lea as much as the next Scarlet..:p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Meeting set for tomorrow to discuss the position...
