Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Guarantee the regional loss in Denver to them in OT felt many times worse than a regular season sweep ever could.

I was thinking HC, the infamous SCSU game that never happened in my mind.....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Actually, after the HC game, I wasn't even angry. I was just numb. I don't think I felt anything for a couple days after that.

I know I didn't. I just turned the TV off and went to bed. Slept soundly, too. Friends knew something was up though, I never passed up a weekend party before that night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

The 8-7 loss to SCSU wasn't *that* anger-inducing since it didn't end the team's season (although it was certainly a bad sign of what was to come as was the lifeless loss in the 3rd place game the next day).

The regular season, no matter how infuriating, simply can't compare to that level of pain and anguish due to the finality of it. F5 title game losses are also tough to take because there's hardware on the line (I realize regular season games can be argued the same way as the WCHA games all count in the standings, but playing for the MacNaughton is generally narrowly-focused on two or three teams trying to clinch/battle for position in mid-February - and generally speaking, the top two teams in the league don't face each other with the trophy on the line late in the season).

Mankato was horrid. The SCSU game, I was there, and had to leave early, because if I stayed, I was going to jail. I was going to punch something or more likely someone. Not. Kidding. The HC game, in hindsight, yeah, I was mad, until the 3rd. Then it became acceptance that we were going to lose. F it.

That 8-7 Final5 game, I watched that on TV. That was some horrendous goaltending on both sides. It wasn't even fun after a while.

NEVER HAPPENED! I was imagining things. I'm on drugs. Shock treatment. The gov't told me to say I was there. Game. Did. Not. Exist.

I hate getting called out on a Sunday morning, now I have to drive 125 miles one way to a service call, in the freakin dark, down a back road where the deer and moose play.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

sure would be nice... I've always said... if i could bring this down to DC or bring DC up to here... i know I'd like it.

It turned out i didn't really remember which section was section X... I tried peeking in around sections 118, 119, and 120 to no avail. I ended up sitting with my father for the first period, the rest of the game over by ScottK and Bucky.
117 now. More fun when it was section X.

Well, s'upp y'all.

About to break out the chainsaw before golf and prune some branches since the city will be picking up the woods from the storm!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Stupid DST. Internal clock thinks it's 9am. Nope. NFL Gameday isn't even on yet. :(

But at least we swept the Sue. That makes me smile.

Unfortunately not, worked on this piece about 3 weeks ago, F'in rebuilt part, so its a freebie other than the truck charge. Still have to go back and that will be free also. I will say the sun coming up in Eastern Maine was quite glorious this morning. get on top of a hill and the view out across the valleys was spectacular at sunrise. No leaves to block the view and crystal clear air made for a nice ride at times anyway. Didn't see any critters so that was good, barely saw anything but trucks coming from New Brunswick headed west

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

What a GREAT weekend! Get out of work early (well, compared to normal, I got out "only" 15 minutes late) and make it home to see MN beat UND. Saturday, go to a Sue bar, see MN beat UND. Get to OC today, and mel randomly shows up!!!! Made me so happy!

Yep, quality weekend. :)
