Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Hey, look who's here! How are the chickens?

Chickens are swell. Laying 6-7 eggs/day. Blue, green, pink, purple. cool stuff. I also added a rooster to the mix as the hens were beating each other up too much. He's a swell fellow who has taken to his role rather "aggressively". I regularly feed him table scraps of lettuce and grapes so we remain on excellent terms :)

Why aren't you hunting?

I haven't gone deer hunting for 6-7 years now. I buy a half steer from my aunt's farm in Pine City which fills the freezer. I still go bird hunting. I'll be heading out to gmann land in a couple of weeks to rid the area of ducks and geese!

Haha! I just looked at my settings and 17 of the 25 reps were Ralph "Spreading" :p
I guess I owe him a few more than I already did! :D

About 25 miles. I live in Plymouth. I drive through the mess that is Monticello twice a day though!

I was just wondering what kind of mutant chickens lay in colors of the rainbow?

Ameraucana chickens - google them and their eggs - they're really pretty birds

EDIT - I see where you were headed with the Monticello comment - Whoosh right over me :o

Although I probably don't need to remind you that the Monticello Nuclear plant is one of the safest, and I believe the oldest plants of it's kind in the US. Where I work, I'm smack dab between the excel Nuke plant and the excel Sherco coal plant. Carcinogens galore here!

Not shaking as much as I used to. Alcohol intake helps ;)
How's Les?
Les is good.

I am ready for winter.
Where ya been? Wait till next year and I'll show you some chickens. Got my coop moved, need to do some repairs and get electricity out there, come next spring the chicks will be here.

You are certainly subject to more radioactive emissions from Sherco than from Montecillo. One sends stuff out the stack the other stores it in a pool on site. I believe Monticello is the same basic design as the plant I helped build in Berwick, PA.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

I took vacation this afternoon and worked on the yard, to get it shaped up for winter. I seeded down some grass where I re-graded this weekend, so I can get grass growing right away in the spring. I also leveled off the fill that I removed by the house, which I used to fill back a big hole I had where I extended the lawn. My lawn is really ****ty, the soil is all sand. I really have to get some black dirt hauled in if I have any illusions of ever having a decent looking lawn.

Seriously? That's terrific! I have my coop and heated waterer all rigged up for winter. I also have a light timer set to keep it lit four hours after dusk. That way they'll keep laying through the winter.
Nothing better than fresh eggs!

Sure, I see how you are. The Goofers get lucky and win some games against a couple deadbeat teams and here you come spouting off in the Lodge. :p;):D

Welcome back!

Thanks for warning me about visiting my neck of the woods. I will be sure to notify the authorities to make sure the women and children are locked up and kept safe. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Hi.

Good evening, Lodge. Rough day in class today.
:( Hope it better tomorrow.

Went to the Regionals XC meet yesterday. Brought my camera but wasn't going to take it out until found out the usual guy wasn't there to take. Ended up taking the 'official' photos and even have my name posted with them. I am famous :D

It should be; we just ran out of time today. Tomorrow, we're working on starches, including risotto, rice pilaf, and whipped potatoes. And we're also making grilled asparagus, topped with maltaise sauce.
