Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

So a former-friend has posted on FB that they quit the hockey association today. They're upset that their kid got placed on a C team. He has always been a B player, not a high end B either. The kid is a very good (but not great) skater, solid defensive defensman, but tiny. I'm sorry, but it's bantams now - some of these kids are HUGE, there is no way their kid can move anybody out of the slot now. They complain about politics, but frankly, there aren't much politics at the low end of the spectrum, it's how you do on the ice, the coaches want to win at B level. I have no sympathy for them. My kid always looks bad in tryouts and then winds up being one of the top scorers on whatever team he lands on.

Get T F over yourselves, he's not that good.

ETA: I e-mailed him to ask about it and he blasted me, accusing my of helping conspire to put together a "dream team" and leaving the rest of the "left overs" to fend for themselves. I sent a reply where I did not edit my languge. It would have a had a number of *s here on USCHO.
Did I mention lately that I do NOT miss hockey for Lil. We never had that many teams, the coaches kids that were not disciplined and the teams were always all politics. even at the mite level.
Having a difficult day... cycling through negative thoughts... I need something to look forward to... I think I'll shoot a few e-mails and texts tonight... right now my weekend is completely open... just need to know things are going to get better... need reassurance.
Hang in there Patman. Put one foot in front of the other and you will get there.

Seniority based.

Longer you have worked there, the better chance you have to get T-Day off. That's what our work does. Also, then you cannot be accused of playing favorites.

What Brent said or do it by who asks for the least amount of time off. You don't ask for a whole lot of time off otherwise? Here you go, you get it when you really want it.

These are the formulas I was told to use. And, we have 4 tUMD cross country runners on staff who have had plenty of time off/meets back in the Cities near their families. 1, for that reason, told me he's good to go, but the others are in for a rude surprise.

Well done!
In youth hockey "politics" is a euphemism for "my kid got cut".

The one telling comment I should have made and did not was: "this BB2 coach coached your kid two years ago as a PWB2, he coached against him last year in PWB2, he just watched him skate in four tryout scrimmages and he chose to NOT draft him to his BB2 team. Just what was his 'political' reason for not drafting this kid he knows so well?" The simple fact is their kid is good, not great, a defenseman and tiny. We have 6'-2", 200 lb. Bantams that he has to try and move. No politics, hockey.

Occupy B2! The 99% need to have the opportunity to play at that level, too! Rabble rabble rabble!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

Nicely done.
FM is about to start coaching a PeeWee B team. I'm kind of terrified for him, actually. He's planning on starting out his parents' meeting by informing them that their kids are not going to be playing in the NHL...

So Tech Smart is like Tech Hot now?

Bantams are getting bigger these days.

Friday starts a series of five games to play in four days for me. I have this "Hockey for the Heart" tournament in Plymouth that's to support the Rasmussen Center at the U, four games in three days, and then my league game Monday night. Tuesday will be a sore day.

During the tournament, I plan to cup check one of the guys in the third game using a wrist shot if given the chance. I hope I don't whiff. He's the guy that proved...unimpressive...during the pick-up game last weekend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursday is not friday.
Mr was not home this AM. Left at 4AM. Which woke me up. Dozed until I had to wake up lil at 5:30. went back to bed. Set the other alarm for 6. He was getting up then. Nixed his idea he was heading into the shower and we had breakfast. Shower after if you dare. Made the bus but would have cost him 3$ for me to drive him. No more waking up at 5:30 for me. Told him I don't care what he does tomorrow. I am getting up at 6. Mr spoils him, wakes him up a few times. I have no patience for that. If I get up and you don't then I don't do that again. GRR.

Morning kids.

I am ready for the weekend.

Only 2 more days to donate to Extra-Life.org and the Gillette Childrens Hospital as I play video games for kids!

It's just going to be one of those Thursdays. I can feel it already.

Hm, Mike McKenna (SLU grad, now goalie for Bingo in the AHL, tweeted yesterday that a guys cup exploded due to a wrist shot in practice. That sounds like a grand idea, and I hope it works out just as well for you! Haha.

Yay! We get to hang out for atleast 2 days waiting on the Leland Bowman lock down here in LA for lock repairs. The USACE is replacing a lock gate as I understand it, and we are the first ones through eastbound once they open back up. Easy money for the next several watches.

Also, I fully expect to be at the * hockey table tonight. wT, tell the fellas to take it easy on us please? I'm gonna say 6-1 Maize and Blue. Maybe worse.

Hi Lodge! Hockey tonight makes it feel like Friday. But it is not :(

I will do no such thing. In fact, I will probably shout things encouraging the opposite.

We'll see how the game turns out. Michigan had 4 nights off (after 5 games in 8 days)...maybe they'll look rusty. And also, although the scores we put up against Bentley looked one sided, those games were close (for 55 min).

Heh. Either way, I'm still saying 6-1 or worse until SLU proves to me they can play better.
