Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

Morning, stopped down here at the Calcasieu River due to shutout fog, got about 400ft of visibility. Gonna have to wait for the locks here too because of it, we're #9 overall.

Still don't have my bags from the office, gonna call about that today and also call USeless Airways to figure out what I'm getting for their incompetance.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

I'm bored.

Cycling load on...and off...the engine in 1 minute intervals and looking at a graph for instability is not entertaining.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

Public transit is the tool of the devil... left at 4:30... arrived at 7... customer hit by train (survived)... I had to walk two miles up hill... ended up making my appointment (late) 'cause of all the other cancellations.

Both ways?
And in a blizzard??? ;)

Morning all. just waiting for clients to show up. Just bit of a hole in my schedule here from having a 90 minute session earlier this week cancel on me, but pretty busy day it looks like. here til 8 today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

I have been waiting almost 3 months to start this thread. Oh well.

Since 137 "should have" locked, My daughter was born, football ended their lockout and played a quarter of the season, the NBA canceled the first two weeks of their season, Hockey season (both NCAA and NHL) started, I was hired permanently at my current job, the Red Sox had another EPIC collapse, the Spankees lost, the Bills and Lions got good, Notre Dame will be in Hockey Rast, my niece turned one, my brother got married, my other brother's gf is pregnant, NJ got hit by a hurricane, Virgina had an earthquake... Not sure if I am missing anything.

Hey Everybody! I dislike the pohl. I like the poul(try). I hate the pole. I love the poll. Monkeys are great.

Here is a pic from yesterday while we were out. The little one has reflux so she hasn't been too happy recently which makes this picture even better.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

So a former-friend has posted on FB that they quit the hockey association today. They're upset that their kid got placed on a C team. He has always been a B player, not a high end B either. The kid is a very good (but not great) skater, solid defensive defensman, but tiny. I'm sorry, but it's bantams now - some of these kids are HUGE, there is no way their kid can move anybody out of the slot now. They complain about politics, but frankly, there aren't much politics at the low end of the spectrum, it's how you do on the ice, the coaches want to win at B level. I have no sympathy for them. My kid always looks bad in tryouts and then winds up being one of the top scorers on whatever team he lands on.

Get T F over yourselves, he's not that good.

ETA: I e-mailed him to ask about it and he blasted me, accusing my of helping conspire to put together a "dream team" and leaving the rest of the "left overs" to fend for themselves. I sent a reply where I did not edit my languge. It would have a had a number of *s here on USCHO.

Having a difficult day... cycling through negative thoughts... I need something to look forward to... I think I'll shoot a few e-mails and texts tonight... right now my weekend is completely open... just need to know things are going to get better... need reassurance.

I appreciated the free lunch at work today. Lots of food and even pumpkin pie. But... if they are going to call it "Octoberfest" I really think there should have been beer.

Nicely done.
FM is about to start coaching a PeeWee B team. I'm kind of terrified for him, actually. He's planning on starting out his parents' meeting by informing them that their kids are not going to be playing in the NHL...

That just seems wrong. But, mmmm... pie. :)

Assuming that threads will all start closing at 1K again, it shouldn't be long until you have another chance. I was beginning to hope we would get to 10K replies before the thred closed, but I prefer the threads closing, especially here.

Patman does have a nice hill to climb, having done it myself on about a half dozen occasions. It is however not that easy walking down hill either if you a bit of klutz like I am. It is somewhat hard to stop walking at the cross streets without falling over. ;)

A dream B team? I'm not sure how that works. You should give them the hint: that when two players are about equal, the player who's parents are not completely insufferable will be selected.

I assume that this means your boy made the B2 team?

No, worse, this is all C. The C teams are more likely to be put together based on which kids get along with the coach's kid than who is the better player. Both mom and dad here talk about "politics". It's not politics that your kid is a shrimp and at the B2 level there are bantams much bigger than me. Ijits.

Sister of Twitch has passed her state boards and is now an RN!

Any of the medical folks know any job openings? She's looking to do inpatient work, preferably pediatrics or OB.

I must learn to read slower. I first thought that she was interested in "impatient work" :D
