Still some finagling to do... an off-hand remark and an invitation may lead to a trip to Lowell for some recruiting and networking... etc. Trying to work out a plan where I come home on Saturday, do my thing on Monday, and then get back to DC on Tuesday... vaporizing a vacation day Tuesday. Not this weekend but the one up coming.
Always nice to finagle work to leisure.

Yes he would and yes he did. The show was painless. Piece of cake.

I was trying to remember about when you started to work for the gov't, but aren't you getting close to the three years when you start to earn 20 instead of 13 days AL per year?

I suppose.

Oh yeah, is this Saturday still on?

Yes.

Bakunin: it should be at least worth that.

And thank Parise for caffeine, taurine, and whatever the hell else they put in energy drinks. "Helping people like me function since 2008!"

Good Morning Lodge.

I'm hoping that I can go to sleep by about 8:00 tonight, but I'm doubtful that it will actually happen. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a long day, since I have to commute to Grand Forks and back in a day.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Made the first batch of caramels of the fall the other day and last night I wrapped them.

Morning Lodge.

Even then, Waterloo is only ~ difficult if you're not paying attention along 218/27, and even then, it's easily correctable.
:o

Messed it up BOTH ways last time. Dam listening to an audio book while driving. :o

Brent, it's Iowa. The goal is to minimize the time spent driving through it, so there is only one way to go to IC. Unless you are a real glutton for punishment, then you could follow the river.

ETA: Yeah Bunkers is not that bad. I worked less than a block from there for ~8 years and ate lunch there a few times. Even at night it's not that bad.

Good morning Lodge.

Nothing happened to me. Don Shelby pointed me out by referencing the town I live in and he told me he had a surprise for me later in the show that would leave a lasting memory. (At the end of the show he was on the main stage/floor. When he turned around and exited his pants had no cloth on his azzz. Imagine chaps with nothing underneath. )

If you remember that, you didn't drink enough.

Bummer of a way to start the day. Really crappy weather here and that really cool thing at work I had mentioned a few weeks ago? Fell through.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

Hit up an auction fundraiser tonight that my store helped sponsor. Between FM and I, for $179 we ended up with the following:
-4 tickets to the Friday night UAH @ tUMD game

If there is one thing that I really hope happens at that game (and every UAH road game from here on) it is that a "Puck Fortera" or similar chant happens. That would be truly awesome, however I'm sure there aren't enough truly knowledgeable hockey fans to get it going and understand it.

Shirts are going to be ordered shortly. :)

Morning Lodge.

The more I read about what Portera has done (not just hockey related) the more I think he needs an interview on The Daily Show or Colbert Report. You know, one of those interviews where he spouts stupid crap and they make it obvious how full of ***** the guy is.

Afternoon all!

It's been a busy week, but a few more hours and it's over for me!

Should be a fun weekend, Mavs have the bye week, and I'm headed to the U for the weekend tomorrow after a round of golf, for the "Big" Floyd of Rosedale game on Saturday! Go Hawks!

p.s. I think I may be at the *hockey table for the whole year..

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 138: HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY!

Hello, Lodgers! Checking in from the crazy life of full-time student, full-time EMT. Got a 78 on last night's exam. :( (particularly :( after I got a 98 on the last exam). I hadn't prepared as much as I should have, but the scores were also quite low across the board. Feeling a bit defeated today, but there's more school tonight (simulation lab with our computerized mannequin).

Nice to see ARM back!
Happy to see gmann didn't suffer too much on the trip to the big city.
I, personally, enjoy RHPS (though I've only seen the "live" with the movie performance once). I like the songs and how silly it is.
Hope you're feeling better, les.
Hope you get to go home this weekend, Patman (any chance you'd be able to catch a UML game?)
Haven't seen much on the biking front, Ralph, closing up the season?
Bummer, Scarlet. :(
Hope Brent doesn't get lost on his way to Iowa (how lost can you get on so few roads?)
