Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Well as expected the Vikings found a way to **** the bed in the second half (and overtime too!) today.

Man, it would be nice to have a competent NFL QB.

You're almost old enough to be a candidate to QB the 'queens next season. :D

I'm leaning towards Mongolian BBQ, since I'll be able to get steak the rest of the week in Houghton. I don't think Yoopers know what Mongolian BBQ is.

Mongolian BBQ sounds really good.

Steaks on the grill here, with cheesy potatoes & sauteed snap peas. :)

19 pound turkey in the oven here, for about another hour.

Evening, Lodge. Pork chops in the skillet tonight with a white wine reduction, mashed potatoes, and roasted eggplant.

The steaks were perfect, there is a Mini-mart type place nearby that happens to have a tremendous butcher shop hiding in back. Seriously quirky but awesome. The pea-peds were just as good.

GE, who's your writer? These have been brilliant all day.
Scooby.

And thanks. :)

The mongolian BBQ was excellent. Back in the hotel, where I got lucky enough to get a hotel that has AMC so I can watch Breaking Bad.

Now I've got to figure out how to get most of a 19 pound turkey into the frig. I don't think I have enough Tupperware to put it in.

Have you ever heard of hickory syrup? Had some today at the Clinton Fall Fest. The guy said they grind up hickory bark and then add sugar and water to it. Thought it would have been awesome to do something with pork with it. Almost bought a bottle of it.

Had the girlfriend over to the house for the first time today. It went better than it had any right to go I think.

Diva, Commie, JSTigers (?!), and I were the last to leave the second reception. At about 10:30pm. It's probably for the greater good, since the $1600 bar tab was cashed. Yeah.

Fun times, may have planned a March trip to CC for a series. Now I wait to steal pics from the weekend, if only to satisfy Scarlet. :p
