Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Got a call on my cell phone, said "Blocked" instead of a number. Left a voicemail. It was a pre-recorded message saying "This is Eastern Bank. Your MasterCard with us has been locked. To unlock it, press 1." I don't have a MasterCard with Eastern Bank. I'm assuming that if I had answered it and pressed 1, they would have asked for the card number or my social security number. Are people really that stupid and fall for stupid tricks like that?

Hon, you would be absolutely amazed at the stupid things people do.

This.

Evening, Lodge. Wrapping up preparations for tomorrow. Apparently, I'm headed west for some event... a wedding, I think.

Took it easy tonight. Just sitting around home. I'm heading to Green Bay tomorrow for a Brantley Gilbert concert, which should be quite fun.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Going to NYC in a few hours. I hope that the WiFi is working in the hotel. Otherwise you may not see me much. I am going by train which I haven't done since immediately after 9/11/01.

Why are you up this early on a Saturday morning?

Also, the little one is doing great... she has slept through the night two of the last three nights and she is only a month old! She weighs 8lbs 4oz now. I will post another pic in the show yourselves thread... Later!

Well, that's a little more info than I was prepared for on a Saturday morning.

Howdy Lodge. Did nothing last night. Was still tired from the trip and going out on Thursday. Caught up on some TV I recorded all week. No real plans at all today. I need to unpack. I want to start writing up my Emmy recap. Maybe do some shopping.

So all you kids out in Denver for the nuptials - provide updates!!! And photos.

Or any other time for that matter.

Morning Lodge.

Well jr did get invited to play summer hockey for the team he tried out for. Seems expensive at first blush, but when you break it down to $/hour on the ice it's not that bad compared to other camps, clinics, etc. Guess we'll sign him up for the Ice Edge Bandits Blue. Hope the neighbor kid is going play again too, we may need car pool help if they practice during the day. Grading for association hockey is Tuesday, hope the kid does well in that one too.

going to return my comcast DVR today in exchange for a standard HDTV cable box and a CableCARD... turning the computer into a DVR.

Afterwards I'm going to Seven Corners and check out a guitar store (there's some things here that I'm leaving out... best left off board.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Well, what started out as a pub crawl quickly escalated thanks to our waiter, whom we dubbed Samoan Joe. What started as a burger/a beer or two turned into Samoan Joe buying a round of Beam for us (and having one himself). Ended up having a few more beers. Samoan Joe also was way cool in the fact he never hesitated to rip Sloe Gin for getting married, verbally abusing us (and we gave it right back), etc. It was awesome. At one point the waiter went outside, just so he could flip me off. He fit in right in with our group.

And then, the next bar, even though we drank them out of Jack Honey, it actually started winding down (although it was hard to top the first bar).

Today should be a bit calmer. Planning on hitting up some super-sketchy jazz bar, and general gallivanting about town.

Went to a diner, apparently featured on the Food Network, called Sam's No.3.

3 egg omelette, with bacon, sausage, ham, and gyro meat.....WRAPPED IN A *ING TORTILLA. So much win. Instant food coma, though. Still worth it.
