Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So, my tuition was due yesterday, and I forgot to pay it, so the University sent me an email telling me that my account was overdue and that they were placing a hold on my account preventing any changes until I pay them. Fine, not a big deal, except that their hold is preventing me from adding the bank account I need to actually pay them.

I emailed accounts payable and told them that I needed to add an account so that I could pay them but I couldn't because of the hold. Their response was that the hold could only be removed once I had paid them. If I came down to their office they would be glad to add the account to my file.

Idiots. The whole point of paying online is so I DON'T have to come down to your stupid office and deal with your incompetence in person.

Who is incompetent? Maybe the person who didn't pay their tuition on time? Silly BADger. :p Think of it as your penance for failing to pay on time - you have to go visit them.

Finally.....home. After getting to DIA at 9am this morning (3 of us, all different times flying out, to 3 different states), and spending 9 hours in airports/on a plane, I'm a little tired.

But it was so worth it.

Diva, Commie, JSTigers (?!), and I were the last to leave the second reception. At about 10:30pm. It's probably for the greater good, since the $1600 bar tab was cashed. Yeah.

Fun times, may have planned a March trip to CC for a series. Now I wait to steal pics from the weekend, if only to satisfy Scarlet. :p

And, mind you, we were also the first ones in to the first reception. We win.

I see your 9am and raise you 5:45am. Ugh, it's been a long damm day. Totally, completely worth it though.

Truth.

And total truth. How'd ya like the Caddy? We also decided on that, since it was cheaper than a cab or the shuttle. It was nice! And agreed, so worth it.

BTW, the tatt is finally peeling a little, but nothing major. No scabbing or anything. Then again, there was hardly any bleeding at all. Just a spot or two on the black rings, which the guy said he was really working the needle hard on that part.

It was AWESOME. Totally worth the price. It does make me laugh when I realize that I spent more money getting to and from airports this weekend than I did on actual airfare.

Ahhh, houghton, so much fun. Just got back from the DT. Met up with a group of friends from school that are all also back here recruiting, drank some beers, shot some ****, had a great time. A friend of theirs, a grad student at tech came out with us too. This girl is the perfect girl (details on that in person), she kept trying to start conversations with me, at first I thought she was just being friendly since we were the only ones that didn't know each other, but that didn't seem right. She kept making eye contact and making conversation so I went along. We had a great time, had offered to drive me home to hotel, which I accepted. Unfortunately, she's planning on coming to see me at the career fair tommorow to try to get a job. Can you say conflict of interest? So I had to just say thanks for the ride and goodbye. I'm sure I'll be seeing her more later in the week after career fair stuff, which will be less "I could get fired" for me...i'll sure as hell give her a job in Minneapolis in the meantime though :p

Morning!

Glad it is Tuesday, and yesterday was a long one at work. Today should be much more relaxed.

Congrats on meeting a 'tech hot' girl. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning Lodge.

Bantam tryouts started last night. Jr skates tonight. There are 129 kids skating in tryouts this year (not counting goalies), there are some more registered who will just bypass the first phases and go direclty to the C scrimmages, not sure of those numbers. Two years ago this same class had 175 skaters. Jr REALLY wants to make a B team again. That means he has to be better than 39 of the 129 kids (A and B teams will have 15 skaters each, 6 total A and B teams). I think he can do it if he skates hard.

Morning lodge. Headed to Alabama this evening (supplier visit). Will be the 45th state I've been to. Could have been 26th D1 rink if purchasing would schedule around college hockey.

I hate when work and college hockey don't match up.

Hey, what did you do about that new job? Did you send a resume?

I'll sum up mass transit by saying the following: it took me 20 minutes to drive from Lone Tree to pick you guys up at the Curtis. Trying to come back here after the evening reception, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a southbound train (and the ride itself took a bit longer).

One more day in lovely Denver, and then it's back to the frigid hellhole known as Minnesota. *sigh*
