Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning. Just got home from NYC. Left the Bx at midnight, got up almost to the Lake Placid exit on I87, took an hour power nap at the rest area then finished it up. Exhausted, but definitely worth it, headed back down for playoffs in 4 short days.

I feel like I got hit by a truck.

Now I remember why I don't drink very often.

The steaks were perfect, there is a Mini-mart type place nearby that happens to have a tremendous butcher shop hiding in back. Seriously quirky but awesome.

That place wouldn't start with a "W", would it? That's one place (if I'm thinking of the right place) that it's really nice to be back in the neighborhood for. Those guys know their meat, that's for sure. They've even got the usually-grumpy-thing going on. Adds to the old-style authenticity.

Say, GE, we're signing up the 8-yr-old for hockey this week. We're probably going with Edgcumbe, since they sound less intense than Highland, and that's more what we're looking for. (Learn the game, make some friends, have fun. Not a big prodcution. Just that it's better to know how to knock the puck around if you're going to live in Saint Paul and you want to keep up with your friends all winter, right? :) ) No big deal, but if you know any reason why that'd be a bad choice, let me know! If not, back to your steaks. Thanks.

Oh I'm drinking - gatorade.
H2O!!!

Well, just found out something that should make next month a little more interesting. They've been kicking around ideas to do a promotion around hot stone massages in October at Balance, and since I've actually had the most training in it, they just opted to make it all about Me. $75 for a 90 minute hot stone massage with me. That's a pretty sweet deal. Normally, that would be 100 bucks, and heck, a regular 90 minute session would $85.

Can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning. ;)

Chin up, young person. It'll get better.
Thanks. Car troubles set me back financially (the money was already earmarked for something that I have to have - health insurance). That, plus a few other things made it tough to think straight today. Passed my vitals signs evaluation (which, as an EMT, if I didn't, I'd probably turn in my resignation letter! :p ). Buncha drama queens here at school though (students, not faculty). Makes me  How hard it is to have your stuff and be on time? Clearly it's my fault you were stuck in traffic and unprepared; doesn't matter that I came from further away and was half an hour early. Ugh.

Back to reading.

Today was the first day of class, and I think my instructor and I will work well together. He's going to be following me closely to make sure I'm working clean and neat, and I will be meeting with him weekly to discuss progress and needed improvements.

I also have to fill out a "Second Attempt" form, which is basically a paper explaining why I didn't pass the first time and strategies I will use to make sure I pass this time. If I don't earn at least a C this time, I will be chopped.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So, my tuition was due yesterday, and I forgot to pay it, so the University sent me an email telling me that my account was overdue and that they were placing a hold on my account preventing any changes until I pay them. Fine, not a big deal, except that their hold is preventing me from adding the bank account I need to actually pay them.

I emailed accounts payable and told them that I needed to add an account so that I could pay them but I couldn't because of the hold. Their response was that the hold could only be removed once I had paid them. If I came down to their office they would be glad to add the account to my file.

Idiots. The whole point of paying online is so I DON'T have to come down to your stupid office and deal with your incompetence in person.
