Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Woke up this morning to sharp pains behind my eye, sensitivity to light and sound, and sick to my stomach. Migraines are just the habit I wanted to pick up. You know, since I quit smoking almost two months ago.

I've got vicodin for sale $5 each!

Kidding.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

So, would getting the kid their first hockey sweater be a good or a bad idea? ;) (The parents are both NMU alums, the father-to-be posted here once upon a time). That and the bibs and washcloths seems to be the frontrunners for ideas right now. Thank you all for the suggestions!

'diva - not sure how health/food conscious your friends are, but a certain USCHO dad was pretty psyched to get this for his daughter.
Not really something they'd be in to (and a bit out of my price range, truly), but that is a FANTASTIC idea.

Morning Lodge.

Another day in houghton down. 5 hours of sleep and then back to interviewing for 10 hours. Then...pitchers and wings at the glorious establishment known as the Downtowner Lounge. We had a bet with Chrysler tonight who could stay at the bar the longest. ****ing pansies left at 11:30. **** amateurs.

Well, it's Chrysler. They're basically just government workers now.

Wouldn't that make them more inclined to stay 'til bar close? They could just call in sick the next day and get away with it. :p

So, more like you and your co-workers? I guess you'd know better than I. :p

Although I have to say the federal workers I've worked with have not been real fun guys to go out drinking with. ;)

I don't abuse my sick leave but have strong suspicions regarding several co-workers. I view it as something to use only when absolutely necessary - otherwise it more or less serves the purpose of short term disability insurance (i.e. in case of an auto accident or some severe disease that requires an extended recovery/treatment time like cancer).

Well if you work with engineers, that explains it. :p

Threads don't close after 1,000 anymore? The things I miss when I sleep through a couple of years ... :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Tomorrow is easily the most strangest day of my life

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

My friend's one-year CT scan was clean!!! No cancer!!! Cancer sucks. This is something to celebrate. What do you know? It's Thursday!! Off to meet up with her to toast to her good health with a martini and/or a glass of champagne. Puts the whole Sox collapse in perspective. That was just a baseball game.

Celebrate it for all its worth! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Turkey and stuffing for dinner tonight.

Laundry and housecleaning on the schedule for tonight, since there is no baseball. Maybe tonight I can get to bed at a halfway reasonable hour and get something that resembles sleep.

Hey diva, were you at all traumatized by Sunday? All that exposure to Brent and I is more than most people can handle. :p
