The best fix for a check engine light is a piece of electrical tape to cover it up. I just ignore it. I can tell if my truck isn't running right, I don't need a light to tell me.
Holy crap what a crazy weekend. I went back "home" for a town festival for one of the small towns close to where I grew up. I knew tons of people there, so it was fun catching up with old friends. This town has a population of 400, and there isn't even a stop light in the town. They close off main street, which is only a block long and both bars are on that block. Then they charge admission to get in and then you can just go into the bars and get drinks and carry them out to the concert/dance. Plus they have a beer tent in the street. They got a huge stage like you'd see at a huge music festival, I was very impressed. Friday night was Lost Highway, the band we see all the time at TK's, they were great like they usually are.
Saturday I did a "road rally" with my aunt and some friends. It wasn't a rally like you'd usually think of, but they gave us a list of clues that we had to follow and the checkpoints were questions you had to answer throughout the race, if you have the right answers they'd know you actually took the right route. It sounds easy, but holy **** was it challenging. For example, one of the clues was "turn at 2004", what it was referring to was a 2 inch long sticker on the back of a stop sign that said "2004". We gave up after we got a flat tire after 6 hours and an 18 pack of beer. We still had an entire page of clues left. But it was really fun, and now that we know how it works we will be better next year.
Last night was the big event, they sold out the streetdance which was 4000 tickets. Sawyer Brown started at about 10:00 and played for a couple hours. Wow do those guys still know how to put on a show! It was so much fun, I don't know how to describe it, I had forgotten how great songs like Some Girls Do and 6 Days On The Road are. Talk was that this was so successful this year, they're going to try to make the area bigger, sell more tickets and get an even bigger name, some of the names thrown around were Rodney Atkins, Eric Church, Jason Aldean or Luke Bryan.
Also, lined up a date with a girl I knew growing up but hadn't talked to in years. The kicker? She went to NMU.
