Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

'Morning, kids!

It's Grandma's Week. As it stands right now, I'm scheduled 50 hours (this includes yesterday). My guess is that I'm going to hit at least 55 between meetings, set up/tear down, and your general retail mindset of "Oh, you close at (time)? What time is it?" (time+2min) "Oh, I'll be quick, I promise."

On the plus side, I'm starting more marketing projects, so those are a great distraction.
It could be worse Diva. Next weekend is Race Weekend at MIS here. The unwashed NASCAR fans are going to be showing up soon here. Pretty sure I've already saw a party bus go down our road here. Between runners and NASCAR, I would take the runners. At least they got a good excuse to be all sweaty and smelling funny. :p

Proabably at about the same time they ban the two clowns infecting the Tech threads.
Hell, I'm baiting them to see if they would bother with pestering the D2Football.com boards for a while. At least there I think it would be easier for everybody to ignore them there. Not nearly as many Yoopers there. God I hope they're banned from here soon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Last grade was finally posted. Spring GPA is 3.66 and I'm on the Dean's List. Also, my cumulative GPA is up from an awful 2.14 to 2.89.

Geez, even we don't put up with that. The second the lights turn off, the entrance doors get locked. If someone tries to sneak in the exit doors we turn them away and tell them we are closed and we open at 8 AM.

Yay, Bob! Congrats!

les - thanks for the recommendation on the health dept. I had to get the titers drawn at a local place (not too bad cost wise - 49$/test and a discount for the MMR), but I got my TDaP today for free at the Manchester Health Dept. :) Just have to get a physical on Wednesday and I'm set for all my requirements for clinicals! (I find out where I'm doing them in mid/late August.)

Hi, Lodge! Busy these days at work and getting stuff ready for school on my days off.

Policy--doors don't lock until the last person is out. So, if we're ringing up the last person at 8:02 (or 6:02 or 5:02, depending on the day) and someone comes in, we can't actually turn them away. Most people are good and realize we're closing, but every now and then there is that one who just can't wait until 10:00 the next morning to buy socks or a hat.

I learned today, though, that I've been re-assigned to work down at the expo. That will be fun, actually.

Remember that whole restaurant conversation? Yeah, don't show up during the last 10-15 minutes a sit-down restaurant is open. Just sayin'.

That's how we ended up at Applebee's for my last birthday.
We tried a few places in town. Olive Garden was still open, but for only around 15 minutes. We opted to go elsewhere lest someone do things to our food.

You'll get it even worse if you proceed to order a 4+ course meal, including the most complex item on the menu and/or a well-done steak.

Glad that worked out :)

Service when you walk in at 10 to close is never going to be fantastic.
Then don't expect a big tip...

I get that walking in 10 minutes before close and staying is a **** thing to do, but giving good service in that situation shouldn't be that hard. Any decent multi-tasker should be able to do it with ease.
