Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Back from Fenway and soaked thru to the skin. Halfway through the concert it started to POUR. My camera battery died early. *sigh* I got my ticket through Theo Epstein's Foundation to be Named Later. He plays in a band with Peter Gammons. Anyway, I go the gate where I was supposed to pick up my ticket at Will Call. The pre-concert event was supposed to be on the right field roof deck, but because of the potential rain they moved it over the third base upper deck (not outside). I go to Gate B, they say, because it was moved I have to go to Gate E. Grrrrr. But I did not go to the Will Call window - the guy said there was a table at Gate E to pick up tickets there - that's what he was told. I walk all the way back to Gate E, no table, nothing. I ask one of the Fenway security guys. He didn't know, but tried to find someone who knew. Couldn't, so he waves me in and walks me up to the event. No ticket, no wristband. Um, OK. While waiting for my friend, I see Theo Epstein. Who is wicked cute. Then I see Mayor Menino. And Peter Gammons. I talk to an usher and let him know my situation, I don't want to get yelled at for no ticket or wristband and where do we watch the concert from, etc. He tells me I should be OK, that right before the concert starts they'll walk us over to the right field roof deck. He was very nice and helpful. I move away from that little staging area and then hear screams - Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood show up. Push my way back, get a few pics.

Walk around some more. See the silent auction. The only thing I see that I want is a signed jersey of my New Red Sox Boyfriend Adrian Gonzalez. I bump up the by way more than the $25 increment hoping to win that. Naturally, I don't. Someone makes an announcement about getting a wristband if you didn't have one - that's me. Turns out I did need it to get to the right field roof deck, but the little tables up there are all assigned seating, so because I never got a ticket, I can't sit anywhere and I have to stand. That was annoying. Because people kept standing in front of me. After the show started, some family left, I guess it was too loud. So I did get a seat. Then the rain came. In BUCKETS. And it was a great show!!! Again!!! They ended the show singing on the Green Monster. I thought that was pretty cool. Enjoyed myself lots. My jeans are currently in the dryer. God knows when they will be dry.

GLM is crashing at my place tomorrow night and Monday night. Thankfully I cleaned my second bathroom today. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

First MLS game today... meh... hard to watch with the supporters in front of you with the LARGE flags. Atmosphere is generally difficult as that mostly empty stadium is an odd sight.

I have to wonder how they used to handle things at RFK when the Redskins played... its trivial to walk into and out of the stadium from so many places... my guess is some big burly bouncers

edit: complicating that was the tailgate... which was a lot of fun... but... it involved a lot of standing around which does not play well with my ankles (as well as some beer-in-hand kickball... on a spongelike dirt surface... woo). I really do wish I had taken the opportunity to see my first game with Monty (UMLFan) at Foxborough... sure, same large stadium/small crowd optics deal... but hanging around Monty usually means you'll be in the thick of it with the crazies.

Good morning Lodge. Raw and drizzly here. But I still managed to go out and walk this morning. Trying to get in that habit for the last couple of weeks. jacket and jeans have dried from last night, but my Coach bag is still damp and so was the cash that I left in it. But money will dry. Need to go food shopping this morning.

If you're not an automotive guy, in that you're not going to fix it yourself, you'd still do well by going to an auto parts store and ask them if they can use the ignition code scanner. That way you'll have an idea as to the problem when you take it to a mechanic and know they're not going to rake you over the coals.

This place hasn't ****ed me in the past, and I don't expect them to start ****ing me now.

Last year's issue (fuel pump) wasn't exactly a cheap fix, but after pricing it online, they charged about what I should expect to be charged for that. Hopefully whatever is triggering this code is more minor than that. The car doesn't even have 70,000 miles on it for ****'s sakes.
