Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 136: Again?

Just saw my report card for this quarter: With one class left to report, my GPA for the quarter is 3.6 with A/A- in most of my classes, except for Food Safety (B-).

And just how on earth did you of all people manage that little uh-oh in Food Safety?

I imagine the Food Safety requirements are a little tighter than you're used to at home. :p

I know because I'm sure that I violate the codes at least a half dozen times when I cook at home, just like everyone else.

And if you exceed the "3-second rule", you have to change to the "10-second rule."
There's probably more bacteria on the typical counter than on the typical floor (particularly if you are constantly putting food on the counter and not thoroughly cleaning it afterwards). It's a bit like the typical bathroom paranoia people have. Toilet seats are more germ-free than most other surfaces in a bathroom.

Good Morning, Lodge!

I really want to get out of Wisconsin and move back to Minnesota. Anybody need a graphic designer with a print production background?

No, but my department is looking for three business analysts.

How about an unemployed musician?

Domino's is hiring, so I hear.

And for food safety/restaurants.....the movie "Waiting" isn't that far off at all. Trust me. Worked in that industry for about 7 years, multiple places (franchise and mom'n'pop).

It's the reason I'm always polite to my servers. I don't want any special sauces or seasonings on my food.

General cooks' rule: the more the servers beech at us, the more we * with your food. Why? Because they vent at us. We don't like that.

So, how you remedy that situation is up to you.

My sister met her husband when she was a cook and he was a server at the same restaurant. First off, it's hilarious to hear them rip on each other (cooks vs servers, that is). But they're always saying that everything you hear about behind the scenes in a restaurant, it's allllllll true. :D

Oh yeah it is. And honestly, I swear restaurants have a HUGE relationship rate amongst its workers. I mean WAY higher than any other industry.

Once worked in a place where the entire kitchen was speeding.
Ctf: Michael. Your entire kitchen is speeding right now.
Mgr: Awesome! This place will look awesome in the morning!

Does the gift certificate affect his amateur status?

Gravity bongs in the sink, drunk as all hell, peeing in the deep fryer, throwing sent-back steaks on the wall and returning them, standard lice spiced meals, spitting on the food (required practice of any restaurant worker), stink-palming food, snot seasoning, smoking a cig while making a salad (guess what the ashtray is?), .......need I go on?

Edit: I only am guilty of the 3 second rule. And the stink palm.
