Stormchasing is fun until you can't see a darn thing, can hear things that aren't rain or hail hitting the side of your vehicle, and you have the wheel cranked well over 90 degrees just to keep the vehicle where you are guessing the road is.

Then it is really fun.

Nothing beats game 7's in hockey. Now just need to hope I can watch the game down in Houston. Might need to pull strings for that one.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

Can we reopen the Happy Hockey Bar tonight? I think those of us who just watched that game need a gaddam drink.

I don't know what you're thinking, but I was drinking through that game. Going to continue drinking, whether or not I have a 0445 wakeup call and a 7am flight!

I agree with SoH, hail can suck it. I had to move a whole bunch of **** in the garage to get the truck in, in case it hailed. And heat island, my ***. It hailed all over the cities tonight.

FM drank the last beer in the house the other night. I may run the state line here for some New Glarus for Thursday night.

Absolutely, dear.

As for hail, a few years ago we got some hellacious hail here, a little bit smaller than cue-ball sized, judging by the dents I had in the aluminum siding at the time. I was happy to see the hail come, as I wanted the siding replaced anyway.

Doah. I drove up the street for a few Labatt Blue Light tallboys. Day 30. Gotta try keeping the streak alive... can't let Andre Ethier have a longer one!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 134: Huh?

He's too lazy to do that. But sadly he's not too lazy to b*tch about the lack of severe weather in his specific locale.

I radar watch like a mofo. When I see it's supposed to hit me in x (usually 5 or less) amount of minutes, and/or hear the sirens, I head out to the patio to watch. Just like a true Minnesotan. :p

please tell me you're going to stop drinking... drinking for three straight weeks seems like a highway to becoming an alcoholic.

3 weeks? Yaaaaa... tonight is night 30. Yes, I'm going to end soon, possibly as early as tomorrow, depends on what the plan is with the people I'm going out with from the company.

Medical studies (yes, there are many conflicting studies) say a drink a day helps prevent heart attacks (thins the blood). Used to be just wine, but obviously they figured out it should include all alcohol. Of course, one drink=one glass of wine=one shot of liquor (mixed or not)=one beer.

So, it just depends if he's "binge" drinking, of which THOSE standards I used to laugh at (it WAS 5 drinks in one sitting*, but they never defined "one sitting"). Now it's apparently 5 or more drinks in about 2 hours' time.

*So, NFL Sunday, I have 5 drinks while watching the early and late games. That's one sitting, about 6.5 hours. Binge drinking? When the general consensus is the average person burns off one drink per hour? Let's get our standards straightened out, mmmkay? ;)
