Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning. Here's a quick synopsis of a story appearing in this morning's Denver Post. It certainly qualifies as one of life's awkward moments.

By coincidence, Denver and North Dakota are staying at the same hotel during the Final Five. Denver's Jesse Martin is standing in the lobby waiting to take the elevator up to the floor on which his room is located. The elevator doors open and out steps Brad Malone, the player with whom Martin collided earlier this season.

Did the elevator smell like urine when he got in?

Morning Lodge.

Driving to Cabela's this AM to buy a new smoker.

Then End of Season youth hockey team party at the goalie's house. I went to a hockey game last night. Peewee A State tourney game - couple of my kid's buddies are in it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning Lodge. Had a nice evening last night. Went out to my usual Thursday place on Friday to watch BU lose to Kansas. They did what I had hoped - kept it under 20. Had a couple of martinis and some appetizers. Good times. And the BU women's hockey team won - playing for the national championship tomorrow. Congrats to them!!

Heading out late morning to get my hair cut and colored. I'm thinking highlights today.....

Morning Lodge.

Disappointing showing by my team last night. I fear it will be a disappointing showing by our fans today. I fear the fan base will prove to be a bunch of bandwagoners that don't care about a 3rd place game. I hope to be proven wrong. Off to the Joe this afternoon.

Yeah, that loss officially nailed the coffin shut on BU's teensy weensy chances of making the NCAAs. So, uh, thanks for that. *sigh*

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

OK, so question for you Minnesota folks - I'll be staying at the Westin Edina Galleria Monday and Tuesday (week of the FF). Is that close to.....anything? I tried to see if my hotel in St. Paul had any available rooms for Tuesday but they're booked, so I might as well stay put till I can check in on Wednesday. I was thinking about another hotel in downtown Minneapolis, but really, I don't want to have to check out, check in and check out again. Seems a little bit much. Plus, the difference in cost isn't enough to warrant it, unless I find a cheap place close to the airport or something. For one night, I can splurge, as I'm not paying for airfare.

It is right by the whole Southdale shopping complex area.
The Galleria is a high end shopping area and the mall proper is directly across the street, but the whole area is full of shops and restaurants (mostly chains, sadly), I have to imagine that you'll be able to entertain yourself for a day in that area with little to no problem.

Hope this helps.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning. I enjoyed both Friday's WCHA games. Denver played particulary well over the final 44 minutes of its game and outscored Bemidji 5-0 in that span, on the way to its 6-2 victory. The Shore Brothers and freshman goalie Sam Brittain were key figures in Denver's victory.

The CC-NoDak game was full of twists and turns. There were plenty of outstanding performances from members of both teams. I'm looking forward to the Denver-Sioux game tonight and think that North Dakota will come away with the victory, however, in the only games between the teams thus far Denver earned a split in Grand Forks.

From what I can tell North Dakota has secured a #1 seed in the NCAA field and Denver has a #2 seed in its pocket as well. In that regard tonight's game won't alter the seeds going to Denver and North Dakota.

If your favorite team is playing today good luck to it. I also hope your team is still in the race for a bid to the NCAA tournament. Enjoy the rest of your weeekend LODGEONIANS.:)

S'upp y'all

Finally done golfing and am sitting in 'Bourbon Steak', the restaurant inside the fairmount turnberry isle here in aventura, fl listening to the outfield :D. Might be the craziest menu (offering and price) I have seen. I got a Moscow mule from the bar, so the bartender sent me a nicely displayed tub of cold popcorn drenched in butter (yeah baby!). I ordered a $69 porterhouse (32oz), so the chef sent me, with his compliments, three tiny cups with three different French fries as apps- paprika, "onion fused' (??), and rosemary. Each came wig their own, even tinier cups of dipping sause (BBQ/ sour cream/ spicy ketchup). Meat is good, cooked nice and rare. They were our of baked potato, so I went with asparagus.

Ha, that reminds me - I talked to my parents the other day. They were in South Beach Miami with a friend of theirs, spending the night before getting on a cruise ship. Wound up getting stiffed $112 for three drinks, and a couple aps at the hotel bar/restaurant. They were beyond appalled.

I am going to be well north of that for one person. :D

Happy Hockey table.

Does anyone know if a team has ever been idle for as long as RPI will be before an NCAA toruney game?

Left the restaurant, in the bar. Nice. Marble bar to cool my sunburned arms!!!! Bartender can almost pass for Asian ( very few Asians in fl, go figure.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

The D1 board sucks. I don't know why I even post there anymore, between the dumbarse n00bs who come over from the editorial section of the Houghton paper to throw their retarded two cents in, and the eNeMa U and UM-Duh fans who post in our thread just to be argumentative dicks.

I should've simply gone to Meeechigan like I'd originally planned. I'd probably have a job and be making 60k by now. :p
