Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning Lodge.

Had an awesome day Friday (even though BSU lost).

Mrs. g and I have been looking into getting a bike for little g. It has been impossible for him to pedal anything conventional like a tricycle or a Big Wheel or a bike with training wheels or anything else that has pedals. The g family spent Friday afternoon with a bikeologist for little g.

The bikeologist had about 5 different bikes for little g to try (the bikes are designed especially for people with disabilities). Little g climbed onto one of the bikes and as soon as we got little g's feet secured in the pedals he zoomed away! He was going fast and zig zagging around obstacles. It blew me an everyone else away because it was like he had been riding a bike for a long time.

When he first took off on the bike he had a smile that was bigger than life itself. The expression on his face was one of total accomplishment. There was not a dry eye in the place.

Little g spent the next 2 hours trying different bikes. At one point he came up to me and gave me a big hug and said "dad, I knew I could ride a bike." Awesome. Simply awesome.

Great to hear. Do you have a link (or just a name) of the bike you ended up getting for Little G? I am just curious.

We have not picked out one yet. We will decide between one of the two.

Simply awesome indeed! :)

Done.

Evening, Lodge. Going to make a dessert tomorrow, but not sure what I should make. Tarte tatin? Bread pudding? Scones?

You cradle-robber, you. Although if she does show up for her 21st at Reid's (which is F4 weekend)........look out.

I actually doubt she will. Its her 21st birthday, I would hope her friends would be taking her out for the night.

They are. I told her she should at least stop by on Sat night (IIRC, Fri is her 21st, but she's not working the F4 at all).

Yeah, I know she's not working, which is unfortunate. But if I were her I wouldn't want to work the weekend of my 21st either. Hopefully Destiny is working for the Frozen 4.

At the Joe with about 500 people. I assume there will be more for the Michigan game.

Yeah, it was a bit empty there the first game. It was so bad that the ushers got the word to start moving people from the upper bowl to the lower bowl just so it didn't look so empty on TV.

Hockey and GF all weekend. Me all tuckered out from that, now just sitting here trying to catch up on stuff while its lightning outside, and giving my DSL the hiccups.
