Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

G'morning Lodge, from NE Lower Michigan (heck with those stuffy Traverse City and Petoskey folk :p).

Going to a grad party for the son of some old neighbors later.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Good Morning Lodge.

Do you know anything about designing railway projects? How do you feel about Chicago?
No, and no thanks. But thanks for asking. No railroad background or real interest in it.

Jr. needs a new bike - outgrew the last one and we sold it at the garage sale. I made a huge tactical error when I took him shopping. I let the salesman put him in a higher end bike ($1100 worth) first. Talked him down to the next level which is ~$650. Still double what I was thinking of spending. He's never been a huge biking fan. Never just goes out to grab his bike and go. Besides he'll be asking for a car in a few months. Need to do some more shopping today....

Good evening Lodge.

A not so georgous start of the day weather wise here in 320ville. However, later in the afternoon and this evening shaped up to be quite nice.

Kids played in the water nearly the entire day. They are wiped out and sleeping like logs.

Had a couple Sam Adams Porch Rocker today. So so.

Getting ready for a few friends to stop over. Camp fire and margaritas are on the agenda.

I need to win the lottery so I can do this more often..................

The reverse here. Started kind of sunny and nice, and then it was overcast for most of the day and more humid. Blecch.

Hope you're all having a good holiday week/weekend. I was tased tonight by a friend who is a state patrolman.. Yup, it hurt.

Mookie was on masspike in stopped traffic today when foot in flip flops slipped off brake and hit gass. Bumped a Volvo in front of me and wouldn't you know it... The bags blew dammit!!! Trooper said Mookie couldn't drive it and had me run up on a flatbed. Driver tells me he can only take me local (or I can arrange my own truck after waiting forever for him). AAARRRGGH!!! Dammit

That's why men don't wear flipflops*. :p

*women can, b/c they suck at driving anyway. :D

Unless that incident was preceded by "I can take it, hold my beer, watch this," that is one of the stupidest things I've heard. And even then...

He held my beer before he did so.. Longest 5 seconds of my entire life but I can say I did it.. I usually don't do things randomly out there like that, it was.. Liberating? Idk. There were a few of us that did it..

We didn't take video simply because we didn't want to post it and get the patrolman in trouble.. If you can get in trouble for voluntarily tasing someone.:p

I'm not generally a Sam Adams fan, but I've had both their Porch Rocker and Summer Ale recently. I liked the Porch Rocker, and the Summer Ale is borderline, where one or two would be fine but any more than that would just get too sweet.

Same here. I'm not much of beer fan/beerologist. Both beers tasted good especially ice cold and on a hot summers day.

Friends showed up with margaritas ahem Lime a ritas. No thanks. They are ok but not the real deal. Good thing g had Jose, ice and mix..........no fire though. To muggy and buggy. Enjoying beverages and company in climate controlled and in a bug free environment.

Greetings from Healy, AK. Touring around Denali with some old college friends.

For the record, yak meat tastes like steak but more tender.
