Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Happy Independence Day Lodge!

Sorry LWB.

I too am starting to sniff around for a new position. Work is quite light in my office and several of us are going on reduced hours for a while (work 32, get paid for 32, full benefits). I like having Fridays off in the summer, but I think I need full pay in the long haul. I am sensing the recovery has not really engaged in the construction industry in the Twin Cities at this point. Still much uncertainty and reluctance to pull the trigger on projects.

Good morning Lodge.

Looks like nearly perfect weather on tap for 320ville.

I hope all Lodgers have a fun and safe holiday!

Do you know anything about designing railway projects? How do you feel about Chicago?

Asking for a friend... ;) (My company is looking for a couple someones with a railway background)

Howdy Lodge. Man is it scorching hot out today. Chillaxin' in our hospitality tent for a bit. Crowds are down from previous years. Not sure if that's out of fear or because people didn't want to deal with the stricter security, which is immense. But not crazy.

I need to find ice cream.....

What crazy weather we had so far today. This morning dark clouds came and left several times, and eventually it became quite nice, but very humid.

And dodging the tourists as I got near home was fun. ;)

Went over to the family's for grilling. They did good. Had 2" thick sirloins; those things must have weighed well over a pound each. Of course, they relied on yours truly to grill 'em correctly. ;) Spent the afternoon outside just chit-chatting. Now it's time to relax at home.

Turns out mnstateofhockey is jdubbs (and many other accounts he used to harass people on twitter). Schlossman and Andy Johnson outed him and he came clean. I didn't buy what they were saying a while ago but its true. Pretty sad. Guy needs a life.

I rarely see the guy's posts. I'm all right with that.

So last night I skipped my pain meds for the first time entirely. I'd made attempts in the past, but relented and took some after a while. I slept like a baby - fussing all night. And I've been in a haze all day. I think I'll take some sleep aid tonight, and continue skipping the oxycodone. It's time to trade in one habit for another, anyway.

Yeah, you don't want to become the next Brett Fav-ruh.

Honestly, ibuprofen and morphine have been the only painkillers I've had that have worked for me. Vic and Perc made me act like a over-sugared 2 year old toddler on crack. And the pain was nearly the same. Hated it. Dealt with the pain instead, which wasn't even THAT bad to begin with.

Got Dad finally moved out. Now, to work on cleaning out his room to make it mine.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Good night, Lodge. Work on the 4th was not so bad; any customer that was in the store wanted to get in and get out, which is fine by me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

A day at the da lake is never a bad thing. Perfect weather.
Of course, I have two sisters-in-law who are drama queens so they get into a fight which, of course, the both want, so they're happy. :) What a pain they arse these two can be.

Since my wife & I now own the "family" cabin they think they need to get me on their side. I almost pulled out the heavy artillery and said now you know why my wife's parents wanted us to buy it and not either of you two knuckleheads; but decided to keep that one for when I really need it. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Good morning Lodge. Home today, recovering from the last two days. It's another scorcha here in Boston. Think I'm going to head to the beach today.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

It's really quiet in the office today. Except for that one manager who never shuts her yap. Oh, my kingdom for some duct tape.
