Rearranged my "media center" so my remotes are not crossing streams anymore. Still might tinker with it a little, it looks awkward, but that could be just because it's still a new arrangement. Now that I've accomplished that, I have zilch to do until I meet up with some friends tonight, and we hold our Fantasy Football Draft Lottery (to see where we draft).

And it looks like another gorgeous day in 952land.

A day at the da lake is never a bad thing. Perfect weather.
Of course, I have two sisters-in-law who are drama queens so they get into a fight which, of course, the both want, so they're happy. What a pain they arse these two can be.

Since my wife & I now own the "family" cabin they think they need to get me on their side. I almost pulled out the heavy artillery and said now you know why my wife's parents wanted us to buy it and not either of you two knuckleheads; but decided to keep that one for when I really need it.

Heavy Artillery. You might want to think of that as a Nuclear option.

Funny....my wife and I were talking last night and she said she almost said the same thing but decided it's more fun to laugh at them behind their backs.

My wife is one of five and the in-laws sold to us because they knew we wouldn't change how it's used; at least until we decide to build on the property which is still 10+ years from reality. Anyway. the two fighting sisters-in-law (BTW, could be great band name; The Fighting Sisters-in-law, but I digress) both had expressed interest in buying at some point since I've been in the family and my mother-in-law flat out said it wasn't for sale.M-I-L knew if they had bought it the place it would have been the end of the "family cabin".

My wife and I had quietly maintained the place for several years before owning (mowing, docks, general upkeep, etc) and really never thought about owning it since the MIL was so adement about not selling - we just did what needed to be done. About ten years ago we started looking for a new house in St. Paul and she asks us if we're interested in buying. It's 40 miles north of St. Paul, easiest decision ever. I think they are still bitter about not being given a chance to buy it but they are smart enough not to PO me so they take it out on each other.

All right, so my new coworker who sits near me is a total Cleveland Brown, and it's becoming something of a major distraction as her desk faces away from mine, and that means the helmet becomes less and less important.

Gorgeous day to be hanging at the lake.

Grilling steaks and corn on the cob for dinner and then we will take a leisurely boat ride around the lake.

Sounds like a few in the Lodge are having issues with the in laws............(knock on wood) Since the last time I set my in laws in their place they have been on their best behavior. However, fil found out we were staying at the lake and asked if they could spend a few days with us. I politely told him no. A few days later he called mrs. g and asked her (hoping to get a different response) and mrs. g replied, "the answer hasn't changed from when you asked mr. g".........

Fun night. What was expected to be an hourlong get-together for FFL stuff and some catching up turned into a 4 hour reminiscing/reunion type night.

Did our FFL Draft lotto differently this year, last minute change. Instead of opening Envelopes #12 down to #1, we took out #12 and #1, and randomly picked the other previously numbered envelopes to open. The first four picks revealed happened to be 6, 9, 8, 7. Obviously when we were down to the set-aside picks of #12 and #1, we opened 12. I got that one. Ugh.

It was interesting, because how it played out, the last 3 picks to open were #1 and #12, obviously, and then #2. And 3 of the 4 guys there were getting one of those picks (the 4th guy got pick #7. Talk about odds!

I am putting my parents in as Parents-of-the-year: So my dad picked me, bbdl, my sister/bbdl's gf and MNS up at the bar and currently staying the night at my parents house: MNS, bbdl, my sister/bbdl's and I. Really none of us are in any shape to drive and my parents said before we went out if MNS wants to crash here the couch is open for him because they would rather have people here than driving impaired
