Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Why? FTR, I'm attached and Valentines Day is no biggie. We're doing dinner tonight downtown, and probably following that up with a piano bar or comedy club. No obligations over here. I think she mentioned going to a sex shop too.

I don't know. I've always hated it. So contrived. Why do people need to have a day set aside to do something special?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

For Hallmark's sake. :)

But even ignoring the commercial aspect of it, it's still a contrived and unnecessary day. Doing something on Valentines Day feels compulsory and boring. Do something special on a different day. There seems to be a much higher number of "going out to eat horror stories" on Valentines Day than any other day of the year.

Exactly. Why do people need a "special" day to be romantic. What is wrong with the other 364 days of the year?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

My wife and I had a wonderful time skiing in Vail and Breckenridge with my brother and his family over the past four days. The weather was sunny, with just a few clouds and an occasional chilling breeze, but by and large, terrific. While we didn't get any fresh snowfall while we were in the mountains, the conditions on the slopes were outstanding. For anyone coming to Colorado for a ski vacation and looking for some challenging bump runs, allow me to suggest the following. At Breck: Tom's Baby, Devil's Crotch and Inferno. At Vail: Look Ma! and Zot. My wife and I both ski bumps well and we are of the same opinion===> Zot is the most challenging run we've skied all year. The middle and lower sections of Zot will wear you out, period.

I'm glad Denver is at home this weekend playing Tech because I can use thew rest! Additionally, we'd never go skiing on a holiday weekend as there are too many people on the slopes. I hope your week got off to a good start.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Work is really starting to blow. There are 3 of us that split up the duties for one particular line of engines, last week I found out that one of the guys is going to be out for a couple months due to a mysterious illness and Friday the other one is going to India for vacation for 6 weeks. This is going to be hell, I have to cover 3 people's jobs by myself, in addition to the **** ton of traveling I have to do.
Yep, Do wish you had let me known about it earlier, could have gotten you guys in at Vivo perhaps, and/or meet up with you guys after the game perhaps.

Gotcha.
Because that is a couple's dream V-day celebration, to meet up with you for a romantic dinner.

Same way I feel about Mother's Day, Father's Day, adn all the other days Hallmark set aside.

Evening, Lodge. Haven't felt great the past couple nights and I'm hoping I pull out of it by tomorrow. Back to bed I go...

I used to really hate Valentine's Day. It was depressing as hell. I think I've moved past it now. I'm getting old.

Wings and beer for dinner tonight.

Hi everyone, busy weekend and busy day. Hope everyone's doing well.
We just made the last tuition payment to my son's school! Freedom! Woot! :)

Until the next school.... :p

Indoor season is over. Last meet today. Not the most fun to watch. Lil ran the 2mi (was supposed to be the mile) on 3 days rest and then ran a leg of the 4X800. All of the other guys also were multi-eventing. It was not pretty. That is all I will say. 2 or so glorious weeks of no p/u after school.
