Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

Well my want for a vacation may be short lived. **** you CHA, I really want to go! :p

Also, just got word from a good buddy from school that he accepted a job offer from my company, from the interview I set him up with in december. So now he gets to move back home to his family, and my old college drinking buddy is going to be living a half mile from me and working in the same building as me. This is awesome news.

I'm friggin' pumped. I'm basically my own boss, with this position. The job is: here's the stuff you need to get done by the end of the day. Make it happen. Don't really care how, just meet the deadlines, and you're golden.

great, I'll look forward to your companies stock plummeting like Bakunin on a date

Your wife gave you a dutch oven? Ewww.

Well, got word from CoolBoss (although I didn't hear it from him, and I know nothing, winkwink) that the off-site position at work is mine on a permanent basis. :D :D :D

Obviously, I'm just playing dumb with everyone else, since I'm not supposed to know anything. So, if I'm there next week (99.9% yes), I told him I'd like to have a sit-down with DHead Boss for the finer details of the job (who does the monthly safety inspection, official shift time since the position starts half-hour earlier than my current shift, and of course a possible raise).

Congrats! :)

Evening, Lodge. Got my hair cut today; why is it so cold all of a sudden?

Happy hockey bar, folks, and it better last all weekend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

work has been so productive... water main break, winter storm, and today was a LAN problem which made work nearly pointless. Its not Friday yet. :(

edit: got my first batch of "Mr. Beer" going... smells like vegetables... we'll see what happens.

I pretty much decided that I was done with vaccines when I got my pre-college meningitis vaccine, and came down with viral meningitis about two weeks later. Seizure, one day in delirium, another three days in the hospital, catheter, spinal tap, EEG, CT scan, nauseating antibiotics on an IV drip, every ****ing test they could possibly administer, and three months of daily anti-seizure medication.

You will never convince me that it was just a coincidence.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

Playing? Whaddya mean playing?:D

Was waiting for that. :p

And Bro Gin: we more than survived the recession. And I'm doing better than my predecessor by all accounts: other branches that we make deliveries to, truck drivers, managers, etc etc etc. So boom, roasted.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

There's no such thing. You can't get bad news if you don't care in the first place.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 128: The Search for Wenches

You don't know my management. ;)
Well, no - but I know management tactics in general. If somebody is moved into a position and doesn't **** it up, it typically becomes permanent. I've seen it many times with my employer (most prominent example: guy who is in charge of the entire lab now originally was given that role on an interim basis).

And lest you forget, this was a position that required no interview. It was an appointment, even though it is basically a lateral transition (although in reality it is not). So forgive me if I feel that I beat The Man. ;)

It's how I got my job I have now. Normally it requires an interview but I didn't have to have one since it was supposed to be temporary...

So when is the "Congrats Brent" party? :D
